Yay! Finished buying my newborn CD stash!

OK, so my husband can only share in my joy so much. I just got a great deal on some Kissaluvs 0 and BG Bamboo fitteds which should nicely round out my newborn stash. I plan to to fitteds and covers until this little one can fit into the Flip system and the larger diapers from when DS was in cloth.

I do want to possibly sew up some fleece shorties, but I'm not counting them since they are not a necessity and I don't actually have to buy them.

I decided I have everything I need for a new baby also! It is exciting! I got some newborn Kissaluvs which I have never used so I am excited about that. I had been trying to decide if I needed anything else other than the prefolds and kissaluvs and I finally decided I didn't Cloth can be addicting!

Cloth is SOOO addicting! That's so right.

You are both making me realize I need to get my daughter's CD's out and get them all ready. I haven't done it yet. I think February is a good time to get all that organized, right?

I need to actually buy maybe 10 more new ones. I really became addicted to the bumgenius organic snap diapers. I want more of those for this baby. The little boy I babysit uses those, plus happy heiny's and fuzzibuns (which I used also). I am buying another mama's cloth wipes that are in good condition. I don't know what I did with mine.

I have my prefolds purchased and prewashed and my wool covers made. It's so nice to know that it's all taken care of, isn't it?
Last night I bought pins. It would have been funny to have the baby and realize we'd forgotten those.

I seem to hit my nesting phase pretty early. I already have everything ready, set up, prewashed, etc.
I almost strapped the carseat in the car when we got it in the mail, too, but DH talked me out of it.

Oh I'm so jealous! All I have is some snappis and a prefold My baby showers are next month though and I'm really really hoping people buy the diapers I registered for. After much research and hemming and hawing, I decided on thirsties covers and prefolds. Oh and I added some hemp doublers to my registry for overnight because I figured that would keep her dryer. I can't wait to get them and check them out IRL.

That's what we do. I hope you love your Thirsties/prefolds as much as we do.

Cloth is SOOOOOOOO addicting. I'm trying to decide if I have the budget for more mama cloth this time around. I have 10 pads, but I keep wanting more.......

I'm actually pretty sad that we still have so much from when DS was born - it didn't give me as much of an excuse to browse and buy, which is the most fun.

What I'd love is to find a hutch that matches my DS's bedroom set (a great 3rd generation hand-me-down from my aunts to me to my DS) that I can store all the diapers in. His little dresser is NOT cutting it.

After DS potty trained, I totally got addicted to cloth pads LOL. I just bought some more and DP said "uh... you don't get your period and won't for a long time so...wtf?" LOL
I'm thankin' my lucky stars that I had gotten so many pantyliners during my mamacloth shopping sprees. Some parts of pregnancy are so gross LOL

I think cloth pads are going to end up being my next obsession. I had already stopped using disposable pads and switch to organic tampons because I couldn't stand the idea of all that waste. I know I can't use tampons PP so now I've been slowly checking out mama cloth and the like. I'm contemplating making my own but I haven't figured out what material to use yet...

I understand!!!!
I was so excited to dig through boxes, and get the various sizes of Fuzzi Bunz I have loaned out all gathered into one spot. And next week a friend is loaning me her newborn stash of kissaluvs, so now we don't need to buy any new diapers (although I would love to do diaper shopping as there are so many more choices now than there were 6 years ago when we were diaper shopping for DS!)

I also have been gathering my stash of baby carriers together, just bought a used ERGO for $35 on Craigslits, my husband definately didn't get as excited about it as me, but we will both put it to good use!

Happy gathering/nesting to all!!!

Hehe, I keep thinking I'm done building my newborn stash (I have something like 3 doz. orange edge GMD prefolds, 8 or so covers that are a mix of Thirsties, Bummis Super Whisper Wraps and ones made by my MIL, and a whole bunch of AIOs my MIL made plus a few bububebe fitteds), and then I find something I can't pass up! Thankfully, my MIL's on to making larger sized ones, after I told her we were squared away for newborn sized AIOs!

It's so fun to share in the cloth joy with people who appreciate it!

My BG Bamboo came today :-D

Now all we all need is little butts to put into these things.

slightly ot,
but it seems quite a few of you have experience with cloth diapering, as well as wearing cloth pads yourselves.. since I'm new, just wondering, can/do you launder them together- with a cold soak then hot wash?
I wash them together and don't even bother with the soaking, and sometimes just wash them cold or warm, instead of always washing them hot.
IMO, the washing of CD doesn't need to be as complicated as it's sometimes made out to be, especially when the only poo on them is EBF poo.

I have some Gro Baby sets that I got that I like, but I don't use that often on my older kids. I bought a bunch of the biosaokers on BOGO before Christmas b/c I don't want to fully cloth diaper a newborn while having three kids in diapers. The biosaokers are my in-between of cloth and disposables until I get things together enough to cloth diaper the kids. I think my oldest will stay in disposables b/c of preschool, but the newborn and the toddler will be in cloth most of the time. I think I already have enough cloth for when I want to switch over.

I'm a bit bummed. I have a massive nb stash - leftover from baby #3. All nice diapers too. I'm trying very hard to get a handle on my fiances and get out of debt, so no new unneeded diapers. I am knitting some longies though!
I have collected about 12 pieces of nb/small wool soakers, longies, and shorties, and a couple recycle pieces. We have 8 prowraps PUL covers in NB, and some other various small and NB covers left over from DD, plus 2-3 dozen prefolds and a dozen kissaluvs in size 0. I also have 8 Sandy's small diapers which say 8-20 pounds...they look twice as big as the nb kissaluvs though. I feel like I have enough newborn and small diapers for two or three babies.

I plan on using mostly wool for this baby, but I kept the PUL covers we already had just in case. I'm so excited about all the cute wool!

We wash all our cloth (tp, CD, and mama cloth) together using our 3hr "sanitize" setting on our HE washer with Arm & Hammer powdered detergent in our "detergent" slot and vinegar in the "softener." Even with my toddler's nasty poos, we've never had a problem and never had to strip.

I agree - some people do crazy elaborate things to their cloth. We just don't have time for it. It's gotta be easy or it's a no-go.

I'd LOVE to get some wool soakies for this baby, but not sure if we're going to be able. I could knit some, but I'm trying to be realistic about my attention span.

I wash my cloth pads with the diapers also, and cloth wipes too. I've also thrown my breastpads in the wet bag too because they're so soaked.

I usually throw it all in the wash with just a little free and clear detergent on a cold prewash. The prewash on my machine soaks for an hour or so, then it quickly agitates and rinses.

If they've been sitting in the wetbag for more than a couple days I'll do a second prewash without the soak and add in some TTO because everything here molds/mildews so fast for some reason.

Then I wash them on hot with a little vinegar in the rinse thingy, and calgon in the wash for our super hard water. Then another extra rinse just for good measure, and I throw it all in the dryer. It doesn't take long at all! They'll be all washed and clean in a few hours. I usually do diaper laundry once every two or three days depending on how many diapers we're using.

I love prefolds and simple fitted diapers because of how easy they are to wash and dry! When we tried pocket diapers with that synthetic fabric they kept getting build up and stuff, yuck. I feel like the prefolds and fitteds rinse clean so quick instead of retaining residue and stuff.

Yes, agreed!
