Maxwell Wilson F. was born at home last nigh, the 22nd, at 7:48pm weighing 8 lbs. 6 ounces. His home birth was an amazing and healing experience after having a rather traumatic hospital birth with my daughter. His birth went so smoothly that I was honestly in denial all day that I was in labor.
From the start my contractions were mild and about every 3-4 minutes and about 30 seconds long. That was from about 9am after I lost my mucus plug. I kept waiting for it to pick up or change in some way so I would know it was true labor, but it stayed the same. I kept in contact with my midwife and she agreed to come over at 7:30pm and check things out. At 7 things finally picked up in a big way and she agreed to come over right away. My husband barely got our dd dropped off at a friends and the midwives barely made it over before he was born. I honestly can't really believe I had the home birth I have always wanted!
