Pre-Birth Communication?

Has anyone had an experience of having a dream where information is revealed about their fetus (sex, birth date, health problem, etc...)? Was it right or wrong? Do you think it was some sort of communication from the fetus or a way your body is telling you something it knows about the fetus but you don't consciously know? I had a dream last night where my fetus told me that s/he wasn't ready to be born yet.

When I was pregnant with DD, all of my baby dreams had it be a girl even though I thought it was a boy. This time, I've had dreams about both .

A good friend of mine dreamed about the birth several times and at the end of the birth she would say it's a girl! it's wren!! and that ended up being the baby's name and exactly how the birth went.

I think it can sometimes be very meaningful... but you won't know what's meaningful until after he/she is here!

With my first son, I had a dream about him being about a year or so. Clearly a boy, curly light-brown hair, a nose like mine. A couple days later, my partner had a dream with the same boy, who had green eyes. We felt like we really knew him after that. And all those details have worked out to some extent--his eyes stayed blue for a very long time, but are now green/hazel. I attribute the first dream to our symbiotic existence.

This time, I didn't have any dreams at all about this baby until recently, and generally I don't see him, so I don't have that same feeling. Also, I started out certain this was a girl, mostly because my pregnancy symptoms were so different--but no dreams. So I feel like I don't this guy as well yet.

I have been pregnant 4 times & this is the only pregnancy where I had a dream about the actual birth & baby. I had a home water birth & it was a girl. We'll see what happens in the next few days/weeks to see if it is true or not.

I have 2 boys & had one miscarriage at 14 weeks (never saw baby though).

both times, I felt like it was a girl, I dreamed it was a boy but it was a weird blond, brown-eyed boy where I went 'huh? how can that be my baby?' [we are dark brown hair, blue-eyed folk], and then both times it's really a boy [#2 not born yet but I know he's a boy].

I agree that it is generally in hindsight that the dreams are meaningful. It's always fun to guess though. FWIW mine are always strange, or mostly not memorable, and never mean anything.

With ds#1 I had many dreams... in all of them I gave birth to a black cat...
