beautiful birth videos

I'm a middle school science teacher and I'm about to start my unit on reproduction. The kids CAN'T WAIT! They even get to take home what I like to call "robot babies" for a weekend to see what it is like to care for a newborn. Anyway, I'd like to show a movie or two depicting birth in a positive, natural way. These are kids in a public school, so I don't want anything too hippy-dippy (like my dd's birth!) or too graphic. They already saw bits of a hospital birth in a video last week in another class. (I'm actually thinking of showing them the birth scene from Monty Python's Meaning of Life as a contrast, for the fun of it! I can get away with wacky things like that in my tiny school where I know my students like family.) Any suggestions for things I can find online?

I do birth photography and have a few slideshows on my site, not sure if that would be what you're looking for: www.loradentonphotography.blogspot.com -- there is nothing graphic on the site at all, so not sure how good it would be for students to understand the process. There is one hospital birth and then a few homebirths and one birth center birth

I just recently saw some birth videos from "Understanding Birth 2nd Edition" and I'm going to be adding it to my library. They are not cheap though! http://www.injoyvideos.com/product.p...th_2nd_Edition - Christina's birth is great!

good luck on your search!

Those are some beautiful pictures--thank you for sharing. I just might show a few of those to my kids.

I wonder if they'd enjoy The Business of Being Born? I think it has a broader appeal than to just pregnant women!

Maybe someone elses here can help.... There was, at least a couple years ago when I started TTC, a great website of birth videos that was sorted by graphicness?

Ring any bells to anyone? I know it's not descriptive. I'll try this weekend to find it to pass along, but if anyone else knows that would be great

I think you speak of My site! http://pregnancyvideos.googlepages.com

More than 200 videos, look for graphic and modest ones...stay away from very graphic for the kids
