Preserving fish eggs

I can't buy fish eggs/roe without additives in ordinary food shops, so I want to try to order a lot from a fish shop.
I would love to be able to preserve some of it for later, since I can only get hold of these eggs between January and March (the fish seller told me).

Is freezing the best option? I have heard about drying too, anyone know how to do that?

At least here fish eggs are sold year round in the freezer section so I think freezing would work. I have also heard about drying but I have no idea how that would work.

Nobody who's dried them?

Maybe you call them roe? I don't really know the difference (if any) between fish eggs and roe
