can I freeze buttermilk?

the buttermilk in my fridge is 3 days past it's expiration date and smells just fine but I can't use all of it in the next day or so, should I throw it out or can I freeze it until I need it?

I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to...do you think you'd use it soon? I've had buttermilk WAY older than what you're describing and it lasted just fine...

I end up freezing it and will probably thaw it later in the week to make muffins so I guess we will see...
