Toddler sizes-need help tonight!!

Hello, I am one of those impulse shoppers. I tend to think AFTER I purchase. Land's End is having a huge outerwear sale. I purchased a coat for my 22 month old for NEXT winter and decided to get 2T. She tends to run smaller anyway. Right now she is still wearing an 18 month size winter coat and it will last the rest of the winter. But should I have gone for the 3T just in case? Or would that be huge on a tall, petite toddy? I also decided on size 7 boots (adorable animal character boots for $12!!). She now wears a 5.

So in hindsight wondered if I should have researched more and bought a 3T coat and size 8 boots? Her feet do grow slowly. She's been in a 5 since mid summer. I thought if I got suggestions to change the size I could at least call them ASAP!

Thanks! Good to know this stuff since I plan on always being an end of season sale shopper

Well, the sizes you got SOUND good...lol. But if you wanted to play it safe...I found DS a Land's End coat at a rummage sale in a boys size 5-6, and he's only in 3T right now, but it fits great. Extra long so it comes down past his butt which I kind of like. He'll be wearing that for at least 2 more winters I bet. It seems to be like Hanna Andersson...the sizing is SO flexible you can buy a size up without worrying your LO will swim in it or that sleeves will dangle to their knees!

I would buy a 3T, in fact I did buy a 3T for my DD who is 21 months tall and thin, she's wearing a 2T right now quite comfortably. I'd go by her height. The shoes is sooo tough to gauge. I didn't even try. I think once they're older it's more like two sizes a year, but I wouldn't quite count on it yet. Size 5 is really small for an almost two year old! wow. I thought my DD had small feet with size 6

Lands end runs ample esp if you got the squall jacket. My oldest has a medium little kids squall jacket 5/6 and he is on his second year and it fits him well. I ordered Jack a 3T he is wearing a 2T coat now He is wearing a size 6 shoe so I ordered size 9 snow boots I nkow they will be big but I want 2yrs out of them.

I think you did fine on the size of the coat. Lands end makes their coats for layering so the cut is ample

Jack is my 4th boy and is following the same growth patterns as the other ( 90-95%)
