What does the sitter/grandma use to change your lo?

We got BG pockets for Daddy and sitters to use. I have since converted Daddy to pfs, and we use the BG occasionally. I hate them. They're repelling very badly, and the aplix is useless.

I'm considering throwing the BGs out, but what will sitters use to change DS? I think pfs are intimidating to some people. Should I get fitteds? pockets with snaps, so the aplix won't be an issue for us anymore?

We only have prefolds with mommy's touch covers. We just trifold in the covers which takes about half a second to get the hang of so the grandma's have been using them as well.

Our daycare is comfortable using fitteds, pockets and AIO's and Dh is the same way. He never really got the hang of prefolds, but that is ok with me.

We usually use snappis (DH likes the gizmo factor), but our last snappi broke, so while waiting for a new one in the mail, we've been tri-folding, well really quadfolding, because we use premium pfs, and DS is in a med cover, so we have to fold up the bottom a bit.

We're going to start swapping babysitting with friends, one of whom cds, another who doesn't, and I can't imagine her folding a diaper.

I never had any issues with the sitter just using what ever I told her to use sometiems it was a prefold in a wrap (I pre laid a few) sometimes an AIO or pocket diaper sometiems I left a sposeis or two. I think we hired a sitter liek 3 times in my DD CD years so really I didn't sweat things. Grandma doesn't live anywhere near us when we visit and shes actually did a chance she eaither used what we used or told me baby needs a change.. (her arthritis makes like pins and snappi hard)

We usually have defaulted to sposies with sitters and the nursery, because we mostly use pinned prefolds, and I don't trust anyone who isn't experienced at it "learning" on my kiddo. We have a few snap fitteds that we use for sitters or the nursery when we don't do sposies. Our church provides diapers in the nursery, so even when we send easy cloth diapers, they usually just use their sposies, and it's really not a big deal to me.

We're getting a small stash of bG OS organic AIO's for sitters/nursery/etc. with the new baby. I like the bG OS 3.0's ok, but really prefer cotton to polyester against their delicate areas, which is why the organics are so great. My BFF who will probably be the first/primary person the new baby is ever left with has said she would really rather not mess with cloth at all, but will get whichever type of disposable I would prefer her to use on him.

We've had sitters use pockets since they're easy to put on and I can ready it before hand. However when putting DS down for the night, we just have them do a sposie since the nighttime diaper has extras in it. I also don't want to risk leaking and having him wake up.

Generally my mom likes to use Fuzzibunz, but if I had all fitteds and covers she would be fine.. my nephew lived with her for 2 years, and he was full time in fitteds and pull on covers.. (indisposables but still)..

I have a couple of bumGenius in my stash, but I also hate the Aplix.

My kids go to daycare, and they happily use whatever I send. The two sitters I've used haven't had any issues either. (Our stash is a mix of Fuzzi Bunz - both the sized version and the newer one-size - Knickernappies Disposanots, and GADs.) They are intimidating to look at the first couple of times, but snaps are a lot easier to get the hang of than, say, prefolds. I send them pre-stuffed, so they are good to go.

IME, people unfamiliar with cloth have a hard time with snaps, unless you can somehow mark where to snap until they get used to it. With the aplix they can at least fit the diaper like they would a disposable.

That being said, my mother and MIL are seriously snappi challenged so I would always send fitteds for them, with the correct snap marked w/ a dry erase marker. I suppose I could have gotten them pins, which is what they used on their kids, but I never did. My dad got the hang on the snappi so he would just use regular prefolds and my FIL has never changed a diaper in his life and doesn't plan on starting now so we didn't worry about what he would want to use.

I've since moved away and don't plan on using a sitter anytime soon, but if I do we will go ahead and use pockets. And if/when we use the church nursery, I always have them page me when the babies need to be changed and I do it myself. Not very practical but much easier than having to deal with explaining the diaper changes to someone who has never done cloth (our nursery workers rotate).
