cup feeding

I've heard that cup feeding is an alternative to nipple-confusing bottles for newborns/preemies who aren't latching on or whatever, but I kinda wanted to use it as my chosen method of feeding for the times I have to be away (will be rare- maybe one feeding a week, tops) .. anyone else do that? Is it a huge pain for the caregiver to manage?
Also, I'm having a heck of a time finding the proper kind of cup. ideas?

background: I breastfed my ds exclusively, am a SAHM, so we only had to do a pumped bottle maybe once a week, but both ds and I HATED the bottle experience.. he refused to use them for the most part and just wouldn't eat when I had to be away.. perhaps due to the infrequent usage, it was always a new experience each time. I used a medela pump and bottles, which I have since recycled due to warping, but I seem to remember that maybe the large cap on the bottle was appropriate for cup-feeding (shot-glass sized, flexible plastic). I have a lansinoh manual pump for the new baby, but maybe buying a medela bottle just for the cap is the best option?

oops- they do not recommend cup feeding for babies who are accustomed to the breast. I suppose I'll just find a bottle to keep handy.

Cup feeding usually works, but some babies are better at it than others. One thing to consider is that it doesn't satisfy a baby's need to suck. See what your baby likes. Another great option is finger feeding (small tube on the finger) which also avoids nipple confusion.

we used a cup for dd3 and she was all breast, no artificial nipples. there are other resources on that website for supplementing without using artificial nipples.

DS refused bottles, and when I was working part-time, he was fed with a medicine dropper. That worked well, with less spilling than you got with cup feeding.
