2 year molars question

Do the "2 year molars" really come in about age 2? I'm asking because just as soon as these last 3 canines come all the way in (they are all just peeking through her gums) my DD will be done teething with the exception of her 2 year molars. She is 17 months now...will we get a nice long break before thinking about those molars, or do they often come in well before 2 years old?

If you can't tell, I'm really anxious to be done teething! I've got "we're done teething" party plans...

DS has been working on his 2 year molars since he was about 21 mons and they are still not really out yet, he will be 2 on Fri.

The answer is, I know you love this one, it depends! My ds had his by 19 months and my dd is getting hers at 21 months. And I know kids who haven't got them at 2.5 - so hopefully your dc gets them and you are done...well, until the 6 yr molars.

DS got them at a little over two years so yes, we had a nice long break after the canines! My 14 mo DD is teething all four first molars at once right now and I am so hoping we get that break again after her canines.

DD (19 months) just finished getting her canines last month. In fact, the last two canines broke through exactly one year after her first two teeth. I thought we'd have a nice long break, but here we are a month later and she's chewing on fingers again (which is her most tell-tale teething sign.) So, as PP said, you may get a nice little break or she may just move right on to the molars next.

Just as I suspected...there is no way to predict!!

DS is 20.5mos and working on 'em. I think the top right one is about to bust through. The rest are lurking below the surface...

DS will be 3 in May and he has been working on his 2 year molars for over 6 months now and they are not all the way through yet.

DD got hers in the month and a half after turning 2. Very glad they're in, now! No more teething 'til Kindergarten!

DD is 21 months and getting hers. She's been teething and not having the best go with it for about three weeks now. Fortunately, there are some days where she is not bothered at all.

My DD didn't get her first tooth until she was 10 months, and she seemed behind the majority of other kids. At 26 months she started showing signs her 2 year molars were coming in, and finally 6 months later they had all come in.

Honestly, we're not sure when DD got her 2 yr molars, but it was definitely before she turned 2. She was a darn early teether, had her first 2 teeth by 3 months, 4 by 4 months, and they came in at a rate of 1/month for a while, and then we did get a break so I quit checking until all of a sudden OOPS! She has molars! Clearly teething didn't phase her at all after the first 2 because we had no idea. Every kid is different!

Seriously. DS is such a SLOW teether. He's been working on one tooth or another, to some degree, since he was six months old.

I'm just tired of the drooling.
