Front Load Washing Machine Broke

I do not know if I should feel guilty, I know I am upset about the cost, but I am very happy too. Someone, not sure if it was my DS's or some guests we had visiting, pushed the door open so far that the hinges broke. The washer is in the bathroom. The door is hanging on by one small part of the hinge. This is not the type of door that can switch opening sides. It still works but it is a matter of a short time before the whole door just breaks off and falls to the floor.

We bought this machine a year ago and I HATE it. I posted a poll recently asking what brands people had more issues with then others. We had a front load machine for 10+ years in a more humid climate and other then a random hot August day when I forgot a load, the clothing never smelled. This machine on the other hand is horrible. I tried every trick on here to stop the smell. Clothing comes out smelling gross. DH's clothing comes out still smelling like it did when it went in. Yuck!

Later this week I am off to buy a new machine.

What machine did you have that just broke? I had a Kenmore & hated it! kept it 2 long yrs & sold it. I got a basic top loader that I love. There wasnt even a noticable diff on my bill since I no longer have to rewash.

It is a bosch. One of the smaller stackable units. So not impressed.

I had a friend with a bosch. She also complained about a bad smell.

I'm hating my frigidaire gallery for the same reason. I can't think it's high efficiency when I'm rewashing loads so frequently. Grrrrr. Stinks to have to replace a broken washer anyway.

I could kick myself for buying the front load washing machine I HAD to have! I have a Kenmore, but I am betting they are all the same. I hate the way they wrap all the clothes around each other and things fall on the floor every time you take things out of the washing machine. I hate that you don't dare leave a load for a day or so because they start to smell. It's petty, but I also hate having to wipe the door seal to avoid mold. For the money I spent on the stupid thing, I could have bought a nice top load model, and a dryer, and still had money left over!
