Graduating from G-Diapers--Suggestions for a new system for a large baby?

Hello Mamas!

So, at 6 months and more than 20lbs (I'll know for sure how much he weighs later in the week) I feel like my son has outgrown his G-diapers. They say they go to 37lbs or something, but there is no way my babe would stay in them that long. The rise is just not big enough. I also think the tabs are uncomfortable against his skin. So I am trying to figure out a new CD system that would be more comfortable for a larger baby. I have been using prefolds in the gdiapers which has worked well for us so far. We also part time EC, so I would prefer something easy to get on and off and don't care for AIOs where I have to wash the whole diaper if he goes. I'd also like to not spend a ton of money. In fact I only started CDing with the Gdiapers because I found them for 1/2 off on a baby bargain website. Any suggestions?
TIA!

I hear that BBs run a bit big (I have some covers and they are huge!).

What size prefolds are you using in the G Diapers?

I would go for a premium size PF - much, much higher rise with either a bummis cover (you trifold the PF in) or snappi (and fold) the PF on and then use either a bummis or a wool interlock cover.

There is a learning curve to snappi-ing on a diaper, but IMO it's worth it so you don't have to wash your cover if your baby poos. DH prefers this method and actually doesn't like diapers that have snaps/velcro etc.

I am looking into monkey doodllez...They are an all in one but they sell a specially sized doubler to use when you need the extra.

We have been using just regular gerber prefolds so far since they are cheap and I already had several dozen laying around the house. We have a litewrap that I use, too, a hand-me-down from a friend. The one I have is a medium but I think I will need a large like nowish. Those are pretty inexpensive and easy to use...

Prefolds and thirsties or prorap covers are a cheap way to go. I like both those covers, and you already know you like prefolds.

There's a new system coming out called BestBottom. From the comparison pictures I've seen it has a slightly higher rise than it Flip Covers so it should be great for bigger babies.
