Remind me not to be scared that I have such an awful cold while I am 5 weeks and every little body part is forming. How high a fever is too high? Should I take aspirin or something?

Tylenol in regular strength is generally the only recommended fever-reducer in pregnancy. I was always told that if it hits past 101F, to take a reducer. Feel better!

Ok, now I'm freaking out b/c I took aspirin 4 times in the past two days to bring down my fever. Is the risk miscarriage?

As far as I understand it (you could google it, but that will give you the worst case scenario), aspirin and ibuprofen can increase the risk of miscarriage because it can interfere with implantation. This is probably at least in part, due to its blood-thinning properties.

That being said, how many women drink, do drugs, take prescription meds, even birth control, before even knowing they are pregnant at your stage?? Most women still go on to have a healthy pregnancy. All you can do, is go on from here with what you know and avoid it in the future. And if by some small chance you go on to miscarry, I would venture to guess it would be just as likely from the illness than necessarily the aspirin, KWIM?

I hope and pray that you feel much better soon and go on to have a happy healthy pregnancy and baby.
kind regards,
