what do you do about spoiled milk smell in bed?

My sheets always smell like spoiled milk. I don't mean they are not coming clean. They are just always getting milk on them. Within a night or two they smell. I wonder if people have good tips.

i just washed my sheets VERY regularly. like, every other day. it was mostly because i was leaking so much in the beginning, i would wake up in puddles! eventually i slept with a towel under me, but if youre just spilling milk, then i guess youre going to have lots of laundry

I keep a wool puddle pad underneath my LO, plus I put a receiving blanket under his head and under my chest so all leaking falls on that and then I just change that as necessary. I also keep cloth diapers close at hand to catch any leaks/spit-ups. I found a towel too hard to keep underneath us, but the blankets work well and don't seem to shift around too much during the night.

It was really hard the first 2 months to keep the spoiled milk smell out of everything! But it got easier. . .I guess I leak less now and I have gotten better at containing the leaks.

just wash your sheets everyday!

sometimes that's just what you have to do! you can get a puddle pad to lay on, and that will definitely help, but if you're leaking a lot and you're a wiggly sleeper, you may just have to wash your sheets everyday for awhile. maybe buy an extra set of sheets so you can wash every other day?

idk mama, i have always had an oversupply, and ds was a projectile vomitter, so i got used to washing my sheets every day. i also had a stack of towels next to the bed so that when ds puked everywhere, i would just put a towel on top and go back to sleep (this happened 2-6x per night). then i would just wash everything in the morning.

I also wash the sheets regularly and use a receiving blanket under me and the baby. It is frustrating though. I can't stand that i have to change my shirt multiple times during the night.

My baby sleeps on a Mommy's Touch changing pad from green mountain diapers, because her spitup is our biggest problem with keeping sheets clean. Basically a reusable chux pad. For boob leakage you could sleep with one under your chest. Obviously nursing pads should help, but I know when I was leaking all the time (first month or so) nursing pads would never stay put overnight.

I'll add that when washing apply some of the same methods you would use for cloth diapers to avoid build up of the detergent and to make sure they are getting clean.
