It is sort of a gamble... you might not like the dipes. But it is a really good deal, definitely. IF you end up liking them.

If not, you could probably still resell them for what you paid on diaperswappers.com.

They look awfully thin to me. I would handle them IRL and then decide.

do you think she meant to say pocket not AIO?

I agree - handle them in RL and then see what you think. But honestly, I have to question how they're made - she says "rubber lining"? Does she really mean rubber? I find it hard to believe that anyone who has sought out and purchased PUL would call it rubber, so that begs the question of what they're made with.

With such a limited budget, I'd stalk DS for used prefolds, personally.

used prefolds, because of shipping, generally aren't that great of a deal unless you don't have to pay for shipping(like a local cd'er)

kidsurplus has bummi's packs for a little over $100. And then you don't have to fight with the virus causing ads on DS.

the mamabird pattern also runs small, especially with flannels like it appears she used. It doesn't look like PUL either, unless she sewed it in backwards, it should be shiny on the inside. If she used Procare than it won't be shiny.

Heck if you have a sewing machine, you could make yourself a bunch of fitteds for way less than that, especially if you use upcycled materials from your house or the thrift store.

There's someone on here that has some diapering stuff up FFS, that's a good way to get some basic diapering essentials.

I do think it's strange that she called it rubber. Unless she was trying to talk in laymans terms. Not everyone knows what PUL is.
But also if she sewed flannel over the PUL to make it look cute, it could wick around the PUL, KWIM?

For teh record, I'm a total novice seamstress, no training whatsoever, and I was able to make the mamabird pattern she speaks of.

I liked coolababies one size pockets from ebay. They are pretty cheap and I really had no troubles at all.
Since you made one diaper? How about you make your covers? I bought some PUL from kidsinthegarden.com ($8 per yard)... You could buy a pattern or just trace one for your own private use. I didn't find it hard to make covers, it's just PUL with fold over elastic. I made some small pockets with it and now I am working on covers. I got 12 pockets out of one yard PUL and one yard bamboo velour, not bad. I did that as the Coolabies don't fit newborns....
Little Lions has super cheap prefolds seconds...

There are lots of free diaper patterns out there too(both sized and one sized) And for covers, the Katrina pattern is free, and easy to use. If you stalk the remnant bins at Joann's, you can buy fleece for next to nothing.

and I agree with the pp, the mamabird pattern is an easy pattern to use.

personally I'd pass.. The mention of rubber has me concerned AIOs can be soo fincky we relay on eery part of those to work perfectly the fit needs to work or they leak the cover part needs to be both water tight and breathable or leaks and rashes ect... With like fitted you can have a not so perfect fit and still make it work. Adding a decent cover ect a bad AIO and your outta luck.
http://www.little-lions.com/page19.html here are some really good basic prefold and wrap packages for under $100 they will hoenstly get you through 2 days worth of CD you can upgrade covers if you like for just a few dollars more.

& right now kidsurplus has a coupon code for $10 off a $50 purchase... EMAIL10 or FACEBOOK10 both are good until 2/2/10

Since you're on a tight budget, have you checked out Econobum from CottonBabies (bumGenius)?
