This is a spinoff to the Bitter Sushi Ladies Thread over on TTC. Some of us have very happily made it to the "other side" and we want to be able to keep track of each other.

Our fellow BSL's that are still on their TTC journey like to check up on us from time to time too - which we really appreciate - since they continue to be in the midst of a sometimes brutal and just "NOT FAIR" TTC journey...

I finally made the thread!

And Lauren, you are definitely welcome to stay for the next couple weeks until your little one arrives - even though you weren't technically a BSL. Hey, you can stay well after too - we can all live vicariously through updates and pics of your little girl.

I just put everyone that had graduated from BSL on the list - many don't really post much anymore. Maybe this thread will bring them out of hiding!

I did add Carlyle - I hope that's okay!

AFM - Still on a high from the u/s yesterday! So nice to think of the little baby boy growing inside of me, with a name and I can really "imagine" now.

The name is very special to me too, when I was around 5 or 6 my Mom had a stillborn baby boy at 7 months gestation - they named him Benjamin. So she really, really loves that we chose that as his middle name.

every time I read your posts about your LO, i tear up. I am an emotional wreck these days, and your sweet, touching little stories arent helping! kidding, of course. His name is such a beautiful tribute to the brother you didnt get to meet.

Today marks a special day for me. I am officially in the 13th week today. 12 weeks, 0 days have past. (well, 10 technically, but with the stupid addition of those phantom 2 weeks... well, you know.)

I thought I'd feel differently, maybe next week I will.

I am so happy this thread is around!!! You can add some info if you want to my blurb-- it's A BFP after 4 cycles, 15 months (I would add of Hell, but that seems inappropriate! LOL.
I hope this thread is active. I am just biding my time... just trying to think of baby names... maybe I should share my baby names here bc I get new ideas every five seconds. Like my new one is the name Amelia is number 70 or something in the states, do you think it will keep rising??? Would the Name Amelia Ruby be cute if I nicknamed her Lia? That seems easy to spell and my last name is a doozy when it comes to spelling/pronounciation so I don't really know if I want to saddle a kid with a name like Anneliese after all.

(personally, I expected my son, Matthias, to take on Thias... but as he grew up he wanted Matt... so I say call her what you want as a baby but she will have those choices, a nice normal name or a nice different name)

I'm okay. My midwife had to cancel today's appointment because she's at a labor, which is totally understandable and I expected it to happen at some point, but I'm still just a little pouty. I had really been looking forward to seeing her and I had a lot of questions for this appointment. Depending on when she gets me rescheduled, I might email a couple of the most pressing questions along, but I think most of them can wait for a little bit.

My husband got to feel Bagel kick for the first time last night, which is super awesome. I remarked, "I told you I was pregnant!"

Thanks so much for this thread, lisko!!! Oh, and I so can't wait for our anatomy scan (I know, way to jump the gun for me, right?) because I really want to start calling this little bean by his/her name.

starkyld - Lol at your husband. I keep having to remind DP, too. She believes it now, but I think sometimes she forgets.

LZP - Yippee! That is a great milestone! I am so happy for you, and glad that it seems you're getting into the pregnancy groove... you know you won't feel better all of a sudden like a light switch has been flipped... but hopefully you gradually gain a little confidence each and every day.

Lauren31 - I like Amelia! Melly is cute for a nick name, too. But Lia is lovely.

AFM - I am doing well, got my second beta draw done this morning, and I think we're looking for a number of 185-ish or better, since it's 15dpo now and 11dpo my HCG was 47.

Also, today is my AF due date, so I'm just willing this day to get over with quickly so I can get on with my life.

Oh, I AM SO GLAD there's a space for all of us to check in, so we don't have to go trouncing through all the DDCs stalking each other. SO MUCH EASIER!

MEE TOOOO! I just went on a backcountry skiing trip all weekend (expecting to get my period the whole time)...it was a great way to keep from testing and obsessing the whole time (not that I didn't do quite a bit of THINKING about the fact that I wasn't having to empty a bloody messy menstrual cup into the snow...) Then got home and didn't have a any pee sticks in the house! Next morning, dh took dd for a walk and forgot to pick some up (SO SILLY! He's just as excited as me...how could he forget? Funny). Then I called my best friend here and found out she had just made me a fertility basket--with a whole bunch of herbs and one pregnancy test in it. DH picked it up on his way home from work last night and I practically ran into the bathroom to pee. Hooray!

AFM - I made it through yesterday (AF due date) w/ NO AF! Man, did that feel good.

This afternoon I get my second beta results. Tick tock, tick tock.... why is time STANDING STILL?!

Well tonight I am going to a small dinner party/couples shower for me and my husband. Just a few other couples but it's still a shower! I had a USA shower back home when I was 11-12 weeks along and deathly afraid of miscarriage so this one feels more real haha. Either way, I am trying to spread the word to friends and family back home that wink wink I am registered at Amazon.... don't know how to do that without looking like a greedy greederson.

Well- now now, Beloved. You are our Zen Queen, and we must have positive thinking from you. (But I can understand on this bitter journey how sometimes resigning yourself to "never" is easier...) But, i think you'll be here when you least expect it. So, actually, keep those never thoughts going so you can be surprised!

YIPPEE for a shower/dinner for you and DH! It was really sweet that you had a little shower before you left... but yes, do pass along your wish list on Amazon. Do you have a few good friends at home that wouldnt take any offense? becuase they could send out an email that says, "hey! Lauren and DH are having their baby soon! If you want to help welcome little A to the world, she is registered at Amazon.com here's the link!" (and have them mention that usually it's still free shipping even internationally!) They can call it a virtual baby shower... and your mom could also tell great Aunt Sally about it, or even offer to order for her...

I also told my sister to make an amazon "Wish List" since she already had a shower for her first, and in our area, we only do showers for first babies. (but she's having twins, so now needs another whole round of NB stuff!)

starkyId- ugh. i hope you can get a resched appt soon. what a pain. It's easy to be understanding at first and very sweet of you... until you dont know when you'll be looking forward to the next appt!! Hopefully she can get you in quickly.

Oh, and Lyndzies- I'm counting down too, hoping they get your results back and call earlier than this afternoon!!

I'll tackle the good news first, since it's at least a little cheering and several of you asked. My midwife called an hour or two after I posted yesterday to say that she was leaving the birth and that she could come over for our appointment if I were still available, so I did get to see her after all. It was a great visit. She answered all of my (many, many) questions and didn't see any cause for concern at all. My blood pressure is good, Bagel's heartbeat sounds great, and all is well. I'm seeing her again in 5 weeks and we have a plan for what to cover at that visit, then I go to visits every 3 weeks.

And then there's the really bad news. I'm pasting this from what I just posted in my DDC, because I don't have the heart to type it all out twice.

We found out yesterday that my aunt has ovarian cancer. Her doctor noticed some abdominal hardness during her exam a week ago & sent her to a specialist later in the week. The specialist did some imaging on Friday & scheduled her for surgery on Tuesday, assuming that the cysts were likely benign because they were so large--2 masses nearly the size of soccer balls. She had the cysts removed yesterday, along with her ovaries, uterus, & fallopian tubes as planned--but they also found out that the cysts were cancerous after all. They're running tests, both on everything they removed and on assorted lymph nodes while she's still in the hospital recovering, to see if and how far the cancer spread.

She's young--46 or 47--and has never had children. She lives alone and my mom will be working hard to take care of her while she's recovering. I really expected for the surgery to be unpleasant but not to be fearing for my aunt's life right now.

It also changes some pregnancy-related plans I had. I won't be having the difficult conversation with her that I had planned about religion and how my husband and I will be raising our child. It also means that my mom might not be able to come in late April & early May to help me get the apartment ready for Bagel and to go to my baby shower. Both of those are fine--my aunt needs to not be upset right now more than I need to set boundaries and she needs my mom's help more than I do. I also need to think about whether I need to go home for a visit in February or March--I hadn't planned on going to my hometown again during this pregnancy but I'm booking a flight if my aunt's test results indicate that there's a real problem. It would be much harder to try to travel in April, May, or June.

I'm trying not to freak out too much, but this all seems so sudden and so bad.

I'm so glad we decided we needed this thread! Now I can keep tabs on all of you, without looking for you in your DDCs. Besides, my DDC isn't terribly chatty, so I'm happy to have my fellow BSLs to chat with!

LZP - Yeah for 13 weeks! I'm so happy for you and DH! I've tried to follow your DDC to see if you've had any recent u/s... have you???? Will you be doing the 1st trimester testing... because if so, that's soon!

I'm sorry to be making you weepy. It probably has a lot to do with those pregnancy hormones. DD is obsessed with Taylor Swift and one of the songs on her CD makes me cry everytime I hear it. Its a song she wrote to her Mom... and it is just the cutest thing ever. The video is even worse... as it has a ton of old family movies put to the song - DD kept looking at me really funny while we watched it! I'm a big weepy mess too (or a grumpy mess)... so don't feel bad!

Lauren31 - I don't love the name Amelia... but I do like it with the nickname choice of Lia. That's a different and very pretty way to spell it! Maybe all this stress about names is needless, because once you see your baby girl the right choice will come to you. Maybe, right????

starkyld - Yeah for DH feeling the baby! Caleb still isn't kicking hard enough to be felt from the outside, so my DH is still left out of the fun. Whenever I touch my tummy and smile, he always seems a little sad not to be able to share yet!

I'm really sorry to hear the news about your aunt. As for getting everything in order already and scheduled, try not to worry too much. When big things like this happen in life, its good to take one day at a time as much as you can, wait to see what the doctors say about your aunt, and take it from there.

Lyndzies - Hope those blood results are super good!!!!!

Carlyle - It is nice to identify with the baby now... I still have trouble believing I'm going to be holding and cuddling a new baby boy in just 5 months. I can't wait... nursing again, the smell of a baby... every little thing! I hope I take time to REALLY enjoy it more than I did with DD (things were stressful and I worked way too much...)

Kiya, Tear & Beloved... Thanks for checking up on us! I'm definitely hoping that each and every one of the BSLs gets their time over here.

AFM - Yesterday I bought the cutest little one piece outfit for the baby. I love green and its bright kelly green with blue trim. Its just adorable!!!! It actually makes it real... to think that in a few months I'll be dressing a little squirmy baby in that.

When all my friends that had #1 when I had DD started having #2, I was single and raising DD by myself, so a #2 was not an option. And I remember being really sad sometimes, thinking if I would ever have another baby. And now to be able to... and with a super-wonderful supportive hubby and daddy on board. Its just too good to be true... I need to go pinch myself.
