LZP-I would have been better behaved if I had known people were watching the DDC and PAIF!

...and unless you have a strong history of food allergies in your family I don't think you have to worry about the peanut butter.

Nope!

lol

pregnancy brain sets in the moment that hCG hits your blood stream hun. you can totally use it as a legitimate excuse for any forgetfulness or silly answers you come up with from now until about a year after your little one arrives!

I don't think my name fits me very well... but my youngest son fits his name to a T even though it was not my favorite name... he's a little rapscallion in personality, and his name is well suited for him.

I hope that explains it better..

I guess I was asking what kind of person would fit the name Adelynn?

either a serene dark haired girl or a really bouncy exuberant blonde girl..

I know, that sounds like the two extreme spectrums, but that's all I've got.

All my kids are vowel names.. we are on U (possibly Y)

I like Ursula and Ulysseus. Not too common.
For Y, I am partial to Ysabella and Yeager, but I think I am going with U.

U/S is in 4 or 5 hours.

Well, Dp is already fighting for Ysabella, but I think Isabella is pretty common right now.. I think once the baby is in his hands he won't really care that her name is URSULA MARISOL.

And yeah, U and Y are hard.. I kind of made this difficult for myself, didn't I? The kicker is our last name is a traditional Filipino name.. with 3 syllables and 10 letters, so I can't just stick a made up name or something hard/unusual to pronounce on the front, kwim? The last name is challenging enough.

LISKO, can we update the OP? GIRL!

I am not a fan of Ursula or the spelling of Ysabella. I think Isabella is number 1 or something in the US. UGH. I like Yvette and Yvonne, Ynez, Yara or Yvana

I really liked Ophelia at one point, but I already have an O. My mom said that I should have saved the O for my girl, but O's name really fits him..

Yara sounds like a female body part to me. Yvette and Yvonne are people I knew IRL that I DID NOT like. Ynez makes me want to sneeze and Yvana I kind of like. I don't think I am too familiar with that..

Oh well I have about 20 weeks to figure this out give or take.

I also had a friend named Yasmine, but she pronounced it meen. I think that is cute.

I am still so lost on baby names... I was thinking of the name Anneliese and now all I can think it that everyone will cal her anne or annie or anal grease. . I don't know. I am so sad about names.

Updated to here!

Pinoikoi - Congrats on your ! She will be well protected by all her big brothers (and a little teased and tormented as well). Technically, I think you could probably start over at "A" - since this is your first baby girl. I mean, I don't see why not! (And there are so many pretty A names!)

Ursula just makes me think of the big nasty sea witch on Ariel. I don't mind Yasmeen... that's actually pretty.

Lauren31 - I really think you should just bring your "list" to the hospital with you and see what baby girl looks like. There is no "rule" you have to name her before she's born. Maybe that will take some stress off you with the name game... and she might just scream "this is my name" when you see her. You are SOOO close!!!!

MaerynPearl - Happy to hear you are feeling a little sick! I know it was reassuring for me... having the sickness so similar to DD's pgcy.

I am so suffering from pregnancy brain. Not so much forgetfulness, but silly things just come out of my mouth - its like I forget which words are right and when to use them. DH really finds it amusing.

Okay, back to work (though I'd really like to go back to bed ). We have such a comfy-looking couch in the reception area of the new office.

Yasmine was actually on my short list for a while, but then I realized that my stepson has a half sister (on his other side) named Jasmine and a half sister named Yasmine and a half sister named Jasmine seemed weird to me.

People have made the comment about the Little Mermaid reference before, but I guess I am blessed in that I have never actually had any need to watch the Little Mermaid in its entirety before although I once had a singing roommate that would play certain scenes over and over (my boys are into Star Wars really ).. for me, Ursula is the Bond girl, the girl in Deal or No Deal, Ursula K LeGuin- whom I love, and the gorgeous target of George's affections in George of the Jungle.

One negative reference amongst all the positive ones doesn't ruin it for me although I think the Filipino pronunciation is prettier than the English one.. Ursoola (with stress on the second syllable).

Pinoikoi - congrats on your little girl! Luckily you have a bit of time to pick some names. Those letters ARE hard!

Names I found w/ Y or U that I kind of dig:
  • Yalena (Greek... a form of "Helen.")
  • Yoana (Spanish... "God's gift")
  • Yanamarie (Spanish... "bitter grace")
  • Una (Celtic/Latin..."one" or "united")
  • Ula (Celtic... "jewel of the sea")
  • Uli (German... "mistress of all" ... hm, that meaning can have a negative contation. Lol.)
  • Uma (Hindi... "mother")
  • Umay (Turkish... "hopeful")

... apparently I really like 3-letter U names. Lol.

wow so much has happened since my internet went down at work yesterday at 1!!

PINOIKOI!!!!!! a GIRL! That is just absolutely fabulous on so many levels. I know in PAL and the BSLs, you'd expressed some fear about conceiving and carrying a girl. well, look at ya now, mama!!!

I have the same association as Lis for Ursula, but I do like the Filipino pronounciation. that does sound nicer.

I have pregnancy fingers. i can't type to save my life anymore. my most frequented key is "backspace" and second is "delete." how fun.

Also, Ii seem to have lost the veil of tact that I once had... I just say things without realizing that they're not exactly appropriate, or kind... and then maybe realize WAY later. oops. a blanket apology for those times. I mean well

Lyndzies- if I didnt already have names chosen, I'd be coming to you for my research!!

Jelinifer- you seemed pretty tame to me. (see above, that the veil of tact has been lifted) My comments are sometimes like... WHAAAAAAT?!?! you're a saint.

Lauren, I think you've received great advice thus far- let your choices sink in, and let your little girl choose her name upon arrival. hopefully, they will give you some time with no pressure. I like Adelynn, Elisabeth and Anneliese (sp? sorry i spell it wrong all the time!)
My name is Elizabeth, and I always thought it would be fun to have the more "exotic" spelling of Elisabeth instead of my plain old regular spelling.

mae- yay for sick. I was sad that I wasnt feeling sick for a while. now I am just thankful, after like one day of nausea that I didnt have to suffer that for weeks and weeks! be glad you didnt have it for those 2 weeks, but I hope for your sake it doesnt get any worse.

AFM, Last night, I laughed until I cried. literally, started crying. it was so weird. especially bc (TMI) DH was in the shower, so I was sitting in the bathroom talking to him (and going potty) so I was laughing, crying, and peeing. at least i made it to the toilet! oh, and 5 seconds later, my third personality came out, the one DH calls "Viper." that's when I become insane B Of The Year.

I am a ball of unbridled emotions right now. it's truely insane.

AND, my parents are coming to visit on Sunday for lunch- and my mom bought me some mat jeans which she will bring. I am so wishing I had them right now.... my jeans are hurting me. aaaah i just unbuttoned. hehe
