ec and the mobile infant

so i thought we were doing super good with ec (my daughter is 7 1/2 months) using the timing method, going several days with just one or two misses. but now she is mobile. VERY mobile. she gets up off the potty and crawls away. or she refuses to sit on the potty. and suddenly now she is also going a few hours after nursing without peeing, where as she used to pee right away.
basically, my question is this- how do i ec a mobile baby?

my dd did this as well. I found that putting the bblp on an elevated surface helped her from taking off (of course I stood right there adn held her), also holding over hte toilet was better than her sitting independantly. I also took her more frequently, especially while she was playing independantly bcs that seemed to be when she missed. She is not walking yet but it started right when she started crawling and lasted a couple of months and is way better now, about back to where we were before she started crawling.

Things get more "fun" when they get mobile! I mostly pottied my dd on the counter in the bathroom, and would have to gently help her stay on the potty. Many times she refused, and I just had to go with that! This is a good age to keep fun toys around the potty so they can have something fun to do while they're on the potty. I was going to suggest offering less often, because sometimes they need to go less often and don't want to be put on the potty all the time, so go with your instincts on that one!

They definitely become less cooperative/ more distracted with new milestones like mobility, so expect "setbacks" and the need to be more creative at those times. It does sound like your DD is developing more ability to hold/accumulate her pee, and won't need to go as often. Spend some time figuring out her new rhythms and try to offer in conjunction with that. They'll get pretty fed up with you if you offer too often and they're "busy" with roaming around doing their thing. The suggestion of an interesting toy that is only available on the potty is good, too.
