Feel so helpless

I have posted before about my cholesterol/trigliceride issues. The med I was on, vitoryn, to help I cannot take because not only did it mess with my liver it also started to destroy muscle tissue

So the Dr. did a recheck on my blood today to check and see if my body is recovering then I will have to go on more meds starting out at a low dose. I dont hold out hope that the other meds will work without causing me other harm but I have no choice. If I dont get my cholesterol and triglicerides under control I will die at a young age I am 37 now and with numbers like mine where/are (cholesterol 342/triglicerides 952) I would be lucky to make it to 50.

I have my bp under control at least at home though at the appt. today it was 160/100 at home it has been being around 117/80 or lower. Yes I freak out going to the Dr. and when I saw that I had gained weight when I havnt been eating much at all that just made it worse.

Like the title says I feel helpless because I dont think the meds will work and I am not sure diet is enough at this point.

Are you by chance still nursing? Nursing can throw off the test results.

I keep wondering if there isn't something else going on with your body to cause this.

I am starting to wonder myself. This past month I have gained 7 pds and that is watching what I am eating and limited snacks.

No my thyroid is high normal. Kept that way due to my history with thyroid cancer.

Thank you for "talking" with me about this

The Dr. said my liver being off even before the meds was fatty liver due to my weight I guess. Just read that liver issues can cause higher trigliceryde levels.

Let's think outside the box here.

Talk with your doc. TELL them to think outside the box. With your symptoms what could be causing this? Can they refer you on to a Specialist or additional testing?

DO NOT GIVE UP! FIGHT THIS THING!

According to Dr. Google hypothyroid, diabetes and a heriditary condition are some things that can cause high tri. levels.

I will talk to her more once we get the blood tests back.
