reading levels question

Does anyone have a link to the "grade level guidelines" for readers that are labelled with letters? Our local ps district uses this lettered guideline for reading, and I want to see where dd1 compares to her peers in the local school with those readers (they are available at the library but they don't have the grade levels breakdown) I'd rather not call the local ps for the guideline, I'd prefer to see it myself. All I know is that K'ers are expected to be reading level C books by the end of the school year (and dd1 was reading level A books with help by the end of the school year in K but they still passed her) and I'd like to see where she falls now in level (I'm getting some readers this weekend at the library to test her)

My oldest son's school uses those. It's the Fountas and Pinnell leveling system. In the children's reference section at my public library, there is a giant Fountas and Pinnell book that has about a million books listed with their levels. Scholastic has F&P levels listed on their website for many books.

Oh sweet, I didn't know the name of the leveling system. I know our library has them because I used them a LOT last school year trying to get dd1 reading at what the school said, but I didn't know the name. I'll see if I can GoodSearch that name to find out if there's a chart for recommended grade levels so I don't have to ask a librarian or call the school to ask lol (I hate asking people for things like that, its the introverted anal "keep away from me" personality I have)

I think it's K=A-C, 1=D-I, 2=J-M.
My 1st grader is in public school this year and is currently at an E. They were supposed to be at D in November, G in March, and I in June. My homeschooled 4yo is somewhere in the J-M range.

Awesome! I'm going to end up calling the school tomorrow to verify it, but I am pretty sure that they will say the same. I can't wait to see where she falls, I know its not really *that* important but I want to see since she came out of ps K still at level A........................
