Fingerpaint!

Just wanted to share some success...

Before now, we've been using paintbrushes with the fingerpaint, so he wouldn't have to touch the stuff.

Today was the very first time my very texture averse DS did fingerpaint....with his finger! Yeah, it was only ONE finger...but hey, I'm thrilled! And it was HIS IDEA to do it!! I was floored when he suggested it!!

That's great!!!!!

I can share your excitement--I remember the first time ds1 touched shaving cream in therapy! LOL

At 4.5, he still struggles w/fingerpaint, but he wants to try sometimes. He does best when we practice things like that in the bathtub, b/c he LOVES water (he practically has gills), and he can wash it off as fast as he wants to. We started w/shaving cream and bath paints and crayons and went from there.

Otherwise, he requires wet papertowels or baby wipes so he can clean it off fast!

GL!
