Please help! Could this be a plugged duct or... ?

The other night I slept on my stomach for part of the night (which I try to avoid right now since I BF). The following afternoon, I started to notice that part of my left breast felt kind of achy, almost like a pulled or sore muscle. It's underneith the breast and a little to the right. I have been putting warmed up booby tubes on them, hot shower, and massaging (possibly a little too hard ) to release any possible plug.

I haven't had a fever and have been pumping while at work and BF my DD in the mornings and night.

It's been 2 days since I noticed it, and it's still sore/tender. Could this be a plugged duct? Or is it possible that I bruised or irritated some breast tissue or the milk ducts? Can you tell the difference? At what point do I call and go into the doctor to get it checked out?

Sorry, a lot of questions, but I really want to try to figure out what's possibly going on so I either don't irritate the area more or if I need to work on it more to get the plug out.

Something similar happened to me and I wished I had gone and in and gotten it checked earlier. I had called in the midwives/doctors and they advised me to treat it like a plugged duct-so i massaged, took warm showers, pumped etc. I even tried this ultrasound therapy. Well finally I made it in to see the midwife when none of that worked and it was an abscess. I didn't have a fever or any mastitis symptoms. Well it had gotten bad enough (i had it for a week) that I had to take antibiotics and have it surgically drained (which was painful and kind of gross ) So anyways -if it doesn't go away in another day it can't hurt to have it checked and it could really help.

Good suggestion, I was thinking that if it didn't go away in another day or so that it would be good to go to the doctor just to have it checked out. Luckily last night/this morning it started feeling better! I'm thinking that either I layed on it wrong or that it really was plugged and it was just still kind of irritated after the plugged cleared out and with all the massaging I was giving it to help it. I never did really feel like the plug grew or got backed up though... at least it doesn't hurt anymore!
