How can I remove a burnt smell from the house?

Several days ago I used the self-cleaning function on my oven. I kept the windows open and the hood fan going while cleaning but days later my entire house still stinks. The burnt smell seems to be in the air, the furniture, etc. I've been opening windows - but not too much since it's dropped to 18 degrees outside.

I was thinking of spraying Bac-Out on the carpets and furniture tonight before going to bed. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Spray vinegar threw out your house as well as on furniture. Leave some sprinkled baking soda on plates in a couple spots overnight. Hope that helps!

Thanks, I'll try it. I'm a little concerned about spraying stuff on the furniture - I'll mist it really lightly.
My husband walked in the door tonight and asked if I was trying to cover the burnt smell with the onions and garlic I sautéed while making dinner. He said the compounded odors are even worse.

boil lemons in a big stock pot.

i usually make 2 gallons of lemonade and then put all the rinds and pulp into a big stock pot with water and simmer all day.
