Tandem nursing - could my "new" breastmilk be making my toddler sick?

My 2.5 year old nursed through my pregnancy, but I lost my milk about halfway through. When my colostrum came in, her poops were definitely affected, but I knew to expect that. However, the day after my milk came in and she first nursed, she got sick. She threw up about 6 times that day, and has diarrhea the following two days. I'm assuming it's a bug she picked up and unrelated to breastfeeding - how could the most digestible substance for my newborn make my toddler ill? But so many people are speculating that it could be the breastmilk that I can't help but wonder. My breastmilk is actually one of the best things she could be eating/drinking right now - right? Or is it possible it's upsetting her tummy?

I have never heard about milk upsetting a toddler's stomach, which doesn't mean it is impossible, just not something I am familiar with. I just hear about glad they are to have "real" milk back! I am active in LLL and many moms tandem nurse--just never heard this before. You would think that it is so digestable that it would be easy for the toddler's tummy. I will be anxious to see what others post.

I don't think so. If it was, it might be because your daughter ate something that was bad and the milk is making her throw up as a protection against E coli or something. Most likely she's just sick...
