She's 6 mos. old.. Growth spurt?

Asia's about 6 months and a week old. The past few days/nights have been a complete nightmare!! She doesn't sleep soundly anymore, she is constantly moving and she wakes up crying all through the night, a lot of the time now I have her sleeping on me instead of next to me (we co-sleep). During the day, she's incredibly fussy, she seems to have learned a new even more intense cry that she will do out of nowhere, it really sounds like she is in pain or something.

We haven't done anything different except I've started solids within the past week, she seems to be doing okay with it. I'm just really hoping this is a growth spurt or some kind of phase. Anyone's baby do anything similar around 6 months?

Also I should mention that at her 6 month appt a week ago, her ped said she wasn't teething.. so I don't think that is it, but who knows maybe it started immediately after?

My son is just a few days older than your daughter and nighttime sleep has become a nightmare. He wakes up constantly moving and now eats 2 times a night. I'm assuming it's a growth spurt because he has his bottom teeth and it seems teething symptoms slowed down from last week. I also heard that sleep is worse when they are about to reach a milestone so it could be crawling properly (he half rolls half crawls) is in the near future. Naps are also a pain, but not nearly as bad, I'm convinced it's because he knows he'll wake up soon.

It could be that she's teething too, some babies have different symptoms with teething. Have you introduced solids? How about new things in your diet if your BF?

Hey we have the same baby! Expect for the sleeping on me part, she sleeps in her side carred crib. I don't think there is a major growth spurt at 6 months. I think the next major one up from 4 months is the 8-9 month spurt? Don't quote me on that though. My little one is definitely teething though. Her bottom gums are very swollen. No teeth yet, though.

there is actually a growth spurt at 6 months. DS was a mess for about two weeks sleep-wise - due to that and two teeth coming in at once (his top teeth) it was right after his 6 month shots - he started waking every 1-2 hours, was nursing a ton, cranky, etc. He was actually 6.5 months at the time.

It *finally* stopped a week ago or so, and last night he slept 7 hours in a row (longest ever!) so I'd weather the storm for now and see! It lasted way longer than any of his other teething or growth spurt episodes so far, so it was tough. I was on pretty low sleep for a while.

I knew it was a growth spurt since after a week of it or so I started leaking/spraying/etc like he was a newborn again!
