DS just turned four and we have been co-sleeping since he was a few months old. My question is how long do kids generally co-sleep? Is there a particular age that you start doing something different? Or can you continue to co-sleep until your child decides it's not what they want to do? TIA - Kate

we love to co sleep too and we have been since our son was born... hes 2 now and im not worried at all! I always tell ppl "im sure hes not gonna be sleeping in our bed with his girlfriend one day"
I think at one point they will just tell you that they want to sleep in their own bed maybe once they go to kindergarten and see that other kids sleep in their own bed!

Well, my oldest is almost 6 and he still sleeps in our room. We are a family of 5 and when the baby was moved out of the co-sleeper, it was just too much having 5 in the bed, even though it's a king. So I put a toddler bed next to ours, not really knowing who would wind up there, but my almost 6 year old has claimed it as his own. The younger two are still in our bed. Each child has their own bed and their own room but rarely do they sleep there.

I feel great about co-sleeping and everything works out so well no problems whatsoever. So I think we'll just continue until DS makes a decision to do otherwise.
