Ellen was ok (thank god), but jack was face down in the water. I turned him over and his lips were blue and he looked dead dead dead. I couldn't remember cpr so i couldn't try to save him. I was frantic and so upset and then i woke up breathing very fast.

Hope i haven't given away too much

I need to go out and get some yummy snacks!!

What are the rest of you doing about the kids- it's almost worth hiring a babysitter for!!!!
Lucky for us (at least in this instance) our kids are early to bed/early to rise, so the kids will be asleep by 7:30 or 8 at the latest. I'm tivoing everything so I'll just start as soon as the baby is asleep, and then I'll be able to fast forward through commercials for a while.

My husband doesn't watch though, so if my kids went to sleep late I'd probably watch with the baby and make dh take care of dd until they were ready for bed.

In my situation ds1 goes to bed with minimal fights and ds2 goes to bed with hubby every night any way, so I'm leaving the boys at home and going to my parents house to watch. Dh doesn't really watch Lost, what he has seen has only been because I watch it, so it's no big deal to him that he doesn't get to watch. He thinks the last few seasons have been stupid with the time travel and such.

DH isn't too committed to Lost so he'll run interference for me tonight! I can't wait!!

My DH is another one who has been watching it, but is not committed to the show. So, my plan is to start watching up in our bedroom (which we share with DS right now) while DH helps DS wind down for the evening. Then, when DS is ready for bed, and it's a commercial break, I will switch to the downstairs TV. After DH does teeth brushing and stories with DS, he'll bring DS down for milkies and then (fingers crossed!!!) get DS to sleep himself. It's definitely possible that it will take DH forever to get DS asleep since I'm the one who lies there every night with my arm through the slats on the crib, hand on DS's back, until he falls asleep. (DH's arm won't fit through the slats.)

But, y'know what? I ain't missing the finale in real time...so...

WHATEVER HAPPENS HAPPENS

And, yeah Olma, I gotta agree that really Jacob did not offer a good explanation for "what they died for." Their death doesn't serve any purpose...and it's not like they died trying to protect the island or anything.

I'll have to look for those Letterman Lost Top Ten Spoilers on YouTube - sounds hilarious!

Interestingly, I did read the blow-by-blow spoilers for this last episode (WTDF), and found that I actually enjoyed it more than some other eps where I had less info.

That makes me think it is Penny somehow

I'm still lost.

Yeah, I totally cried and felt all bittersweet and moved by the ending, BUT... I'm still not sure how I feel about it in the context of the show. I still don't even have it figured out exactly. Chiefly: what WAS the "flash sideways"?? Were they all dead? Huh? That makes no sense.

On the ABC boards a lot of people are going on that everyone died in the crash. I do feel confident that CANNOT be the case, if for no other reason than what Christian said ("...Some before you, some long after you"). But that's about the only point I'm confident about.

ETA: On the other hand, what were they getting at with the closing shots of the deserted crash site?? That certainly does imply that they were all dead from the get-go. See? Still Lost.

Yes, they were all dead in the flash sideways. It was a joint figment of their imagination. It was a way for them to find each other after death.

The island was real. When the people died in the crash, they died. When Shannon and Boone died, they died. We saw Jack's death at the end. We assume that Kate, Sawyer, Frank, Miles, Richard and Claire got off the island, but at some point in time they died too (hence the reference to everyone dying sometime). Even Hurley and Ben, who apparently took care of the island for a long time, died eventually.

So yea. That was the whole finale. Everyone is dead. They found each other in the not quite afterlife and now they're moving on.

I'm not completely impressed. All the mysteries of the island, which were what I found most compelling, are left unsolved. And the only happy ending that we saw the characters having was imagined by them in the flash sideways/afterlife.

The flash sideways were what the "dead" created as a way to find each other. His dad was saying how it's the people in your life that are the most important and out of those people the most important of all you will reconnect with at death. They formed that "life" so that they could all reconnect again....

that's as best as i understand it.

I do love love love that Hurley and Ben joined forces to protect the island, presumably for a long time. LOVE.

yeah i'm still disappointed about the lack of explanation of the myseries of the island.

Like wtf was the whole eloise/whidmore/island connection stuff? and time traveling stuff and why was the island weird and a cork...

the whole show could have been a NORMAL island and they could have left out all the weird stuff lol.

Also where were mr. eko? Walt? etc.? They weren't loved by the other people there i guess? lol.

Oh and why didn't we get to see Vincent's side-ways life and why couldn't he be there...he was so loyal and even laid down next to dying Jack...i'm kidding but still he's so cute.

hahahha and we have to mention Claire's birth scene....come ON!

Kate somehow knew it was time to push huh? I was like soooo did Kate just vaginally check her and feel 10cm? hahah. I was glad to see Aaron had an umbilical cord this time (last time you could SEE his belly button).

OH but Kate did forget to mention when it was time to push out the placenta LOL and i kept thinking poor Aaron was getting hypothermic...there was no skin to skin and he was kind of just laying in the side of her arm still all slimy and wet haha.

I am way jealous that her whole birth was like 4 minutes including pushing hahahahah.

I fricken lost it when Vincent laid down with Jack. I was totally fine until then and literally busted in tears and sobbed. Of all SIX seasons, it took a damn dog to make me cry. I'm still kinda teary when I think of that. It's especially moving considering how the show started - in the very first scene we saw Jack's eye open up and moments later Vincent ran up to him. And when he died Vincent was with him, and the last thing we saw was Jack's eye close.

Seriously?!?! That's it?!?! Gah This has left me confused yet again and I was hoping for some answers. I feel like I may just wasted my life.

The directors said Mr. Eko didn't want to do the finale so that's why he was missing!

The dog got me too! I cried at that point!!
