A lovely 20 minute bike ride.

I love living close to the office. It takes me about eight minutes door to door, or about 20 with daycare drop-off. The babysitter lives less than five minutes from the office so I can easily run over there if I need to.

I've changed my hours around a few times depending on kid schedules or dh's schedule. My company's always been great about it. Honestly, until reading this, I've never given it a thought.

TOTALLY. My workplace has been nothing but accommodating when it comes to making my schedule fit my needs. I appreciate it SO MUCH.

45 minutes to an hour each way. however, we CHOSE to purchase a home in the middle of nowhere, off a dirt road, on the river. we made that decision so that our dd could grow up rambling in the woods, etc. the way we both did. we moved from a town where we both rode our bikes to different jobs, too. that was a very difficult decision to make, but my job is good, and i kind of like driving. we also got a hybrid car so the gas is good and i don't feel like a big polluter (but i sure miss the bikey days).

DH does the morning dropoff at daycare. I walk out the door at about 6:40 and get to work at about 7:05-7:10.

I pick DS up in the afternoon. I usually leave work at about 2:45 and get to his school around 3:15. Then its another 15 minutes back to home.

Its funny because the mileage between home and DS's school is pretty small, but after winding through town, getting stopped by trains, and all of the traffic lights it takes a while. While my drive to work is about 17 miles, but almost all highway so its pretty fast.

I come in late which shortens the commute time significantly. Typically will leave the house at 9:35 am, 3 min drive to daycare, leave daycare at 9:40, work by 10:10. In the evening, I leave around 6:30 and I am home at 7:00 pm. My daughter stays up later than she really should but that's life. If I worked earlier hours, my commute would easily run an extra 20 minutes each way.
