Horrible Yeast Rash...Please Help

My sweet son, almost 7 months, has a terrible yeast rash all over his diaper area.

We were prescribed Nystatin 2 days ago and have used it faithfully, but the rash seemed to only spread and get more red. Today, after his bath, I lathered Motherlove Diaper Rash and Thrush ointment all over the affected area. It still looks horrible.

Maybe we haven't given this stuff time to work, but I just don't want to let it go for several days, thinking it's going to get better. Want to have some other remedies in my back pocket, ready to go.

Anyone got some advice? I prefer an herbal, topical remedy, but will listen to any input.

Thanks so much, moms and dads!

mix some teatree with coconut oil...I have had great luck with these. Teatree is strong so do 1/3 tt to 2/3 coconut oil and slather it on!!! I have also used the mother love stuff and have had good luck with it, but it def took a few days. Try alternating the motherlove with the TT/Coconut mixture. Also let him have as much naked time as you can. Hope he feels better soon!

Are you sure it's yeast? I ask because when DS was little I battled this horrible 'yeast' rash for weeks and later realized it was an allergic rash/eczema. If it isn't responding AT ALL to yeast cream, I would be suspicious. Have you tried monistat?

If your little one is eating new foods...you might want to evaluate that.

We battled that for months until we started giving DS Vitamin C flushes. I believe it took one a week for three weeks or so. It flushed out the yeast. Of course, we supplemented with pro-biotics because it also flushes out the good stuff too. We never had a problem after.

As far as creams, the only thing that helped him topically to give relief was Weleda Baby Calendula Diaper Care.

Did you or baby receive antibiotics during pregnancy or birth? Have/had any mercury fillings in your teeth?

Generally, yeast on baby is due to food intolerances or antibiotic dysbiosis.
