Heavy Bleeeding Depite Acupuncture/Herbs...Any Ideas?

I have been seeing an acupuncturist for 4 months now and while my cycle has gotten shorter in length(32 to now 28 days), my ovulation cramps are a little less, and my period is a little shorter, my bleeding is still very heavy. What other things can I do to make it not so heavy? Ideas?

Hugs to you! You might want to check out the menstruation articles on Women to Women -- it's holistically based medical info. From their article on heavy menstrual flow, found the following...
Causes of menorrhagia vary widely between women, but some problems commonly at the root of unusually heavy bleeding include fibroids, low progesterone relative to estrogen (both common in perimenopause), PCOS (for more on this, see our articles on insulin resistance), or other hormonal imbalance.
Here's the full article: Menorrhagia and hypermenorrhagia (excessive menstrual bleeding)

Also, they have a handy, dandy quiz/profile to see if you have a hormonal imbalance...
Hormonal health profile

Good luck! Hope you find the answers you are looking for!

Thought I should update that this month it was much less. I'm not sure if the herbs/acupuncture have finally kicked in or it's because I started milk thistle. Either way I am much happier. Thanks for the help!!
