No, I don't know of any area that allows that.

Actually, I was homeschooled only for PE in high school. My counselor rode horses at my barn and suggested I apply to get credit for it. So - I rode my horse for PE. That was in Oregon. You may ask the counselor or someone at your school if you can credit for outside sports.

HTH.

If you find out, please let me know

I'm sorry you're having bad PE experiences! I assume you've spoken to the teacher, the classroom teacher, the principal, etc??

good luck!

Students do this all the time at the high school I taught at in California. They just had to prove that they were doing some kind of physical activity on their own time for a certain number of hours. Many athletes actually used this to get PE credit for after school sports.

A lot of places around here will allow a child who is pursuing a sport seriously outside of school to be excused from P.E.. It's not the same thing as being homeschooled for P.E., as there needs to be an outside coach and documentation of hours and such, but it's pretty common in both private and public schools. I know kids who have done it for swimming, ballet, figure skating, and martial arts.

That's at the high school level. In Elementary school P.E. tends to be embedded in the school day which would make it harder to skip.

They may let you keep your child out of P.E. if you go into the school and take responsibility of your child for the time they are in P.E. I doubt that they will let it happen if you want the child to stay with the teacher instead of going to P.E. When kids are at P.E. that is considered the teachers planning time, it may be protected by the teaches contract, and the teacher probably isn't going to be open to giving it up.

What do children who are excused from PE for health reasons do in your school? I remember some students at my elementary school going to the library during PE time. There is likely some sort of option available.
