Suggest an "awesomely bad" movie for us! - Page 4

So bad but fun movies?

My husband said the worst movie he ever sat through was Highlander 2: the Sickening

I thought The Exorcist was pretty bad and I absolutely hated The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover I didn't really care much for Fellini's Satyricon either, but I made it all the way through.

Any Steven Seagal movie...ugh. Well, Under Seige was passable, but that one set in Alaska was positively dreadful!

Has anyone mentioned "Waiting"? Very bad, but also kinda dirty and inappropriate. Also awesome.

I loved Tremors!!!

I also thought Mamma Mia was pretty bad in a fun way.

I'm a huge fan of Robert Heinlein. I was so excited to see that movie...and I never even bothered after the trailers. I finally rented it a few months ago, and didn't get further than about 10-15 minutes into it. What a travesty.

Drop Dead Gorgeous

Biggles: Adventures in Time.

One of my favorites. DH groans and hides when I put it on.

Ok, I have a few to add. I work in a video store, so I get to find all kinds of gems
JCVD: a movie starring Jean Claude Van Damme....playing...himself I haven't watched it yet, but it looks all kinds of awesomely bad. Even the cover quotes are awesomely bad "He doesn't deserve a black belt, he deserves an Oscar!"

Stateland Tales: starring Dwayne"The Rock"Johnson, Seann William Scott, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and a huge ensemble cast of comedic actors. If you take it seriously, its a dumb dumb dumb movie. Pretensious and convoluted. If you take in account that 90% of the actors in the movie are well-know comedic actors, you can walk away thinking that it was pretty good as far as spoofs go. 4th dimnesion and a porn star prophet!

No! With that cast? I don't believe it.
Gone in 60 Seconds was bad enough to make fun of I think. As was The Sweetest Thing.

Oh and Dream a Little Dream 2. A sequel with the Coreys and evil sunglasses that control the wearer. What more can you ask for?

I would suggest the movie Bruce Almighty. As for casting, Jim Carey, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Austin. Its entertaining not terribly awful though.

Men who Stare at Ghosts would be in the "awesomely bad" category for many, I'm sure. I loved it, but dh was pretty confused.

I had no idea there was a sequel!

Did I mention that Gene Simmons plays a transvestite, or a hermaphrodite. I can't remember which.

I'm finding myself tempted to rent it again, just to see if it's as bad as I remember - or maybe even worse.

Ugh - that was a bad one.

I watched JCVD last night, and I'm taking back what I said. In theory, this should be an awesomely bad movie. The plotline just sounds idiotic, but it was a really really REALLY good movie. It was one of those movies that make you feel achy at the end from all the emotions you feel. Its not an action movie, though it could be considered one. Its just bittersweet and heartbreaking.
I stand by my assessment of Stateland Tales though

I'm guessing the latter! I will need to check that one out sometime.

Oh...and Radioactive Dreams. I have no idea if it's awesomely bad or just bad bad, because we turned if off after 10-15 minutes. Keep in mind that this was the same group who watched the aforementioned Never Too Young to Die straight through without batting an eyelash.

you can get the original Land of the Lost series on dvd now. It is just amazing. I don't even know how the movie could compare.

Blasphemy!!! Space Balls and Goonies are in my top 10! I'm guessing you are not a Mel Brooks fan

ETA: Another really bad movie - Dirty Cop, No Donut. I can sit through most anything but it was so terrible I turned it off after 15 minutes. I really think it was two guys and a home video camera. Not sure how it made it onto Netflix. If you are looking for bad-bad and not good-bad, give this gem a try

Any of the James Bond movies from the 70s. There's one where he has a jet pack!
