internal spitting up?

On certain occasions (not quite sure what is special about them), my 6 month DS seems to sort of spit up and then swallow, at least that's how I'm interpreting it. I've heard of "silent reflux," does that sound like what is happening?
I have an allergy to cow dairy products, which I mostly avoid but sometimes a little butter or chocolate is fine for me. It kind of seems like the days when I have a little of those, are the days he does this weird maybe spitting up thing. He also often gets hiccups with it, is fussy, and will wake up early from naps doing it.
Could this be the result of an allergy, or are there other possibilities?
Thanks in advance!

It does kind of sound like reflux, which isn't always the result of an allergy (i think 50% are). It can also just be an immature/weak sphincter at the top of the stomach which they basically just outgrow.

Sounds like silent reflux to me. Try elevating his upper body when he naps.

What is the best way to elevate his body? I've heard of putting the crib mattress on two different settings, I might have my husband take a look at that when he's home. Any other successful methods?
I actually tried elevating his crib mattress some time ago when I suspected reflux, but it seemed like he always slipped down and ended up in some weird position at the bottom. Anyone have better success?
Thanks!
