how many wool covers?

If you were going to do a system of only prefolds with wool covers, how many covers should you have on hand for each stage? I´ve seen 3-4 some places and 6-8 others...
thanks!

I'd say 6-8 for the early stages when you are still getting the hang of getting a snug fit & while their poop is still really liquidy. Wool takes longer to dry than pul, so if/when you get poop on the cover you need to have more backups to cover the time it will take to wash & dry the soiled cover.
when your babe's poop becomes a bit more solid & you have become a pro at getting a snug fit then I think you could get by w/ 3-4.

I used 5 for my daughter when she was new. I would go with 6-8 though. Now that she eats solids I use 3 per dozen diapers or so.
