online classes in canada

Hi,

Does anyone know of any good online schools in Canada? I need to find an alternative to my dead end job. Which I cannot quit to go to school full time. I need to know what is available out there.

Thanks

I think Athabasca University has a decent reputation, and it's completely online (Ralph Klein got his degree there! not sure if that's a good thing). I know Thompson Rivers University also has online courses.

Check all the universities though - many of them have some online programs, or programs that are largely online with a few weeks of in-person classes a year.

some of the larger colleges will have online or distance learning classes too.

My dad did an economics degree from U Waterloo. He lives in AB.

Definitely check out Athabasca University. I have a RN degree from there. I was able to do a ton of classes online. I had good experiences with the tutors and adminstration.

Thanks, I will check out those schools. I will also check out the provincial Universities. I work shifts and my employer is not flexible at all plus I have a little one at home. When she starts school I won't see her 2 weeks out of the month except for a few minutes in the morning. As a single mom, I want to be home in the evenings with my child when she starts school.

There is also the Open Learning Agency. (editted to say that the link I posted was bunk and they are now Thompson River )
I did a few courses through them and their courses are transferable to other institutions pretty easily.

Another vote for Athabasca! That has tons of degrees available and they have a good reputation. My friend is getting her degree from them. I am getting my degree in Social Development Studies online from University of Waterloo by distance education. Another good university with a lot of options for online degrees is Laurentian.
