Well, obviously, I the name Soren. Karsten, Nolan, and Theron were all other names we considered for Soren. I really like Torsten, as well.

I love Scandinavian names. My daughter has the most Swedish name you can get, but there's no heritage on either side of the family.

I picked Soren and Lars. But I like the Swedish pronunciation of Lars better..."Losh" (long "a" and rs are always a "sh" sound in Swedish). Oh and Bjorn is great too...you know you can check the popularity of names every year...the governments usually post the top registered baby names online...

I voted for Nolan. Love it. It was on my list last pregnancy. I also like Lars. My uncles name is Mark, last name Larson, and his friends call him Lars, so I couldn't use it. It's a little old fashioned, but I still like it. I like Leif as well, but not the way you have it pronounced. I went to school with someone named that who pronounced it 'Layf'. I like that better, jmo though.

I vote Karsten because that's my host dad's name from when I was an exchange student in Norway. He spelled it with a C, though.

Happy naming!

I voted, but I like Krister as well!

BJORN! BJORN! I LOVE that name. Please?
I voted Dane, Leif, or (was it) Nolan.

Lars, Johan and Bjorn are my second tier votes.

My dad's name was Gunnar, and I always wanted a boy so I could use that - but we have three girls!

Oooh I love Torsten, Soren and Lars! Lars and Magnus have always been on my 'short list' for boys names!

My favourites of your names are Kristian/Christian, Karsten and Bjørn.

And, Leif is pronounced "Leyf" with a diphtong as in "hey" and not "leaf/leef" with a long e-sound.

For other input the top 10 list of most popular names in Norway 2009:
Lucas/Lukas
Emil
Alexander/Aleksander
Oliver
Mathias/Matias
Jonas
Markus/Marcus
William
Sander
Magnus

Other strong and good solid Norwegian/Scandinavian boy names are: HĂĄkon, Kristoffer, Marius, Ole, Einar and Harald.

I love the name Soren. It's on my "I don't completely hate this name" list (which is the same as the name contender list, but I'm really picky!).

I like a lot of Scandinavian names as well, I have a lot of that in my blood and you can tell by looking at me or my daughter!
