How do we keep her swaddled / will she ever learn to sleep well without a swaddle?
thanks!!
Our baby has slept in our bed since she was born & it was great. She sleeps great swaddled, I would like to keep doing it but she can bust out in 1 second now, even from our extra big blankies I made. Which is fine on the one hand cause she is a crawler (since 5mo), so I don't worry that she will get stuck on her face and smother.
I have been thinking of two options:
1. Get a miracle blanket or a woombie for her. Are these safe? Work? Any experence using with older babies?
or
2. Suck it up for a few more nights and see if she calms down. She sleeps, she just crawls all over the bed and head butts me until I help her latch on, then nurses for a second, twists my nipple with bad latch unless I wrestle her onto her side, then falls back asleep while I lay awake for another half hour, wondering if this is normal. I don't think she's hungry many of the times because she doesn't really drink, just suckles to get back to sleep. She has bad latches and I can't sleep while she nurses. But she doesn't like the pacifier either.
Also, unswaddled, she doesnt cry, but swaddled she cries, I know because she cant get to me so she needs me to find her.
Basically she is startling awake (from sounds?) many more times without the swaddling and that wakes me. When she is swaddled we all sleep so sweetly. My mom is so shocked we still swaddle her though.
*we own a packnplay she cries in there so its not restful for me either. no crib. bed on the floor. it's cute when she is napping and wakes up and comes to find us. sucks when she is in the middle of the bed sideways and we roll onto the floor (me to hide from her, lol, and bf to keep from smushing her). would getting a twin mattress for more space help?
thanks!!
