epstein barr/emergency

Can anyone tell me or point me in a direction to which vaccines cause epstein barr? Thank you

I don't know that there is any certainty that vaccines "cause" EBV.

EB is a virus in the herpes family that causes mono. I have read and heard over the years that anecdotally the Hep B vaccine has been llinked to EBV. I think alot more factors into EBV than vaccines IMO.
diet being a huge factor. I suppose it could be argued that vaccination weakens the immune system making it easier for the virus that causes EB to take hold.

Ok, so with EBV being in the herpes family, could the chx pox be a factor? My young brother (17) has mono/hepatitis and he was recently vaccinated with the chx pox. I know I've read that epstin barr is a reaction of somesort.

The year I got EB was the only year I've had the flu shot...I don't know if they're connected, but I haven't had a flu vax since.

I understand the Epstein Barr virus is connected to the flu vaccine in some way.

I have never ever had a flu vaccine, but I tested positive for Epstein Barr several years ago (after, oh my gosh, probably eight months of feeling absolutely AWFUL and being so tired I constantly burst into tears). Just throwing that out there.

Hey Crafty,
Sounds like you had Mono to me! I had mono when I was 17 and tested positive for EBV about a year later. Things have never really been the same since?

What does Hepatitis and Mono have in common? (mono/hepatitis)

That's what we're guessing. I was tired, tired, TIRED for so long. It was awful. I was sleeping up to 16 hours a day and was still exhausted, and it was frustrating because all other tests came up normal. It was finally my psychiatrist at the time who said, "You DO look tired! Have you ever been tested for EB?" By the time the test came back, I had started to feel a LOT better, back on the path to feeling normal, and the test came back positive, although the levels indicated the virus was not active right then (which is probably why I was feeling better!).

Epstein Barr is a herpes virus, in the same family as cold sores, chicken pox, genital herpes, cytomegalovirus (CMV), Kaposi's sarcoma associated virus (HHV8). As far as I'm aware, none of the hepatitis viruses belong to this family.

Although hep A, B C, etc. viruses do not belong to the herpes virus family, EBV, HHV etc can cause hepatitis too.

Did he get an MMR too or just a varicella?

Are you perhaps thinking of Guillain-Barré syndrome?
