Favorite BBI moments?

Thread Starter
I think there have been threads on this before but thought it would be nice to have another one to share our favorite moments nursing beyond infancy.

Last night my 16 month old, while nursing, grabbed my phone, put it to her ear, and started "talking" on it--again, while nursing. It was completely hilarious.

Anyone else?

I love nursing my toddler!

My favorite moment is when she starts laughing while still nursing...i love the look of her smile and twinkling eyes while she's still attached

My favorite thing about nursing an older kid is when they are able to talk about it. They can say the funniest things. Like just recently when my daughter had left a cup of cow milk sitting out until it was room temperature, then she took a sip and said thoughtfully, "Warm milk is like nursie."

oh and seeing them pretend to nurse their dolls/stuffed animals is so cute too

I am enough of a dork that I have photographed this happeneing. It is a favorite of mine as well!

We will nurse lying on the bed (DD is 22 months) and our 20 pound big lovey cat will come up and lie down behind her; she is sandwiched in the middle and will reach back and pet the cat while nursing....that is cute too!

DS is 21 months. He has a few stuffed animals that he puts up to my boob and says "zee-za" (our word for nursing).

DH acts like he's nursing, then DS pushes his forehead away and says "MINE ZEE-ZA!!"

He'll occasionally look up (DS, not DH) and say "yummy!"

Whenever I take my shirt off my dd beams and points and says, "BOOOOOBBS!"

Also in the morning when she wakes up she latches on while we're lying in bed then grins up at me and waves.

My 3 year old recently said "Excuse me Mama, I'm trying to nurse here and your bra is in my way!"

My daughter is 19 months now.

I love when she giggles while nursing and also when she brings her stuffed toys to me and wants them to nurse.

I love these!! My favorite is when we're snuggled in bed facing each other, and she puts her little feet between my legs. So sweet! It took us a little while to figure out how to get comfy once she got taller. I like the smiles while nursing, too! (I have to admit, I have a longer list of things that are slightly annoying/uncomfortable that my LO does while nursing. I appreciate the reminder to look at the positive!)

I love it when I tandem nurse my almost 4 month old and my 2 year old and they hold hands or smile/giggle at each other. Or if my baby falls asleep DD will gently trace over his nose, cheek, and forehead with her finger, or simply stroke his hair. It melts my heart.

Sometimes when DS is being fussy at my breast DD wil come over and offer to help latch him. She will take my breast and say, "like this baby K, like this." And she'll make a slurping sound and then say yum.

When we walk by the bra section of a department store, DD gets excited and yells "milkes! ooohhh pretty! pretty milkies...I like that one!"

I love it when we are out and about and she sees another mama nursing. She gets excited, points it out usually by saying "look mama, baby having mama milk! yeah! like me and baby k!" She'll usually want to run up and have a closer look and I stop her. This also happens when she sees a heavily pregnant mama...she'll say "mama push baby out! push, push" (she'll then grunt and then immitate a baby crying and then say "it's ok, baby wants mama milk!"

I agree there are times I want to rip my hair out nursing a toddler so it's nice to focus on the good stuff, thanks for this post

I love the "baby wants mama milk" story! Wow!

I thought of a couple more. When my daughter wakes up, she immediately asks for nueys, and when I pull her to me, she says "Mommy" in the dreamiest, happiest voice ever!

Sometimes she wants to switch sides, and she started asking by saying "sides?" and now she says "switch sides?" and the way she says it is so funny, kind of like she's slurring! I think "switch sides" is a bit of a tongue-twister for a 22-month-old!

She's just now learning that she's drinking "milk" and she says "milk, mama milk?" We never really talked about it, but like everything else, she figured it out!

I love the "he he he he" when I'm pulling my shirt open, and the laughing while nursing. DD (14mos) "nursed" something for the first time last night - the television remote! What does that say?!?

My favorite was when talking about weaning with my then-4 year old DS. I asked him when he thought he might wean. At first, he said 5 (know how, when they're little, everything important happens at their next birthday?). Then he thought for a minute, asked me how long until he turned 5, thought a bit more, and decided that wasn't long enough. So he asked me how old our neighbor was, around 10, which he decided was also not long enough. Finally he said, "16!". He weaned at 6.

Yay, Carlyle!!!

I also love the delighted grin/laugh when we're about to start nursing.

Here's a video of my daughter at around 18 months, saying "no" repeatedly when asked if she wanted to go potty, or if she wanted clothes, but laughing a big "yes" when asked if she wanted boobie. It's on facebook, hopefully the link works!! video

My favorite is every afternoon when we are playing in her playroom- at some point she will stop whatever she's doing, come sit on my lap facing me, pull at my shirt and ask "boo-bahs?" When I say ok and lay back on a pillow she gets so excited, bouncing up and down on my belly I just love our late afternoon booby quiet time
