What does thrush feel like?

What does thrush feel like when it starts? I feel like I have a bug bite on my nipple. No soreness, though.

Ouch, sounds like you're uncomfortable!

For me, my nipples were a very bright pink and were cracked/dry. While nursing, I could feel a pain deep inside. That's the best I can describe.

For me the blaring sign that it was thrush was that the pain continued after the feeding. I would have both nipple pain and a deep breast pain (sort of like a throbbing or stabbing pain towards my armpit) during and after a feed. Also the very bright pink nipples and itching on the surface skin of my breast.

You can always treat for thrush (vinegar or GSE nipple rinses or gentian violet) and see if it helps. Won't hurt anything! Look for Dr Jack Newman's Candida Protocol (google it).
