Today and yesterday dd has taken a 3 hour plus nap. Yesterday she was at a care provider's home and today she's with me. She doesn't seem to be behaving differently overall, maybe a little more clingy. Any thoughts on what's up with this?
I take it 3 hour naps are not the norm? My little takes them almost daily. It's when he starts taking more than one of them a day I start thinking growth spurt (last Saturday he took 3 of them).
that one turned out to be a four hour and then some nap! holy cow! she seemed happy otherwise, and got up this morning at 6 am. before the sun rose! those are totally NOT the norm for her napping, so i guess it is the growth spurt. she's a little ahead of schedule physically, holding her head up, situps, pulling up, etc. so who knows.. maybe she just wore herself out with her crazy karate kicks she loves to do.
Cristeen, 3 hour naps are the norm for some kids, I've not met many of them though and thankfully one of them was my middle child, which was a sanity saver!
With my other two, an extra long nap has either been after a vaccination, or around the time someone else in the family gets ill, to the extent that these days, a baby taking a long nap is fairly much a guarantee of sickness to come.
