We bought a house a month ago that needs quite a bit of work. We're trying to be as careful as possible about using safe, healthy materials and cleaning up dust and paint.
We recently replaced all of the interior doors. I chose solid doors, thinking that they would be made of solid wood. Unfortunately, they are hollow doors filled with pieces of wood. I assume the glue or other treatments used on the filling of the doors is unhealthy. The doors don't have much of an odor, which seems like a good thing, but we want to seal the doors as well as we can so that the wood and glues don't offgas much into our home.
My husband read that we can buy something to paint on the doors that can seal them well. We haven't painted the doors at all yet, so I want to make sure we're doing the right thing before we paint them.
TIA
