Advice on preparing the adoption scrapbook?

Not sure if every state does this, but I need to prepare a scrapbook of myself and my daughter that will be presented to any committees I go to as well as eventually given to the child I am matched with before they transition to my home. I have never scrapbooked! I am looking to adopt a child btwn 2-4 yrs old. Any advice on what to include or how to best (most simply!) do this?

thanks!

We did ours a number of years ago. We did it on the computer. We just put in candid photos that best reflected the kind of family we are, and put in captions that stated what it was we were trying to show about our lives. Don't overthink it! We actually found that they didn't use it all that much, in the end. I don't know how many folks ever saw it, but it never went to any kids. I remember thinking, "they just gave us this assignment to keep us busy." LOL

Scrapbook for Adoption

We just adopted our wonderful infant son. We had to make a scrapbook too. My biggest advice...Be Yourself! SHow candid pictures of doing things you love to do. Look through photos, find pictures that you are happy in. Posed pictures look...well....posed.
Ours went to the birthmother, different then yours, but she commented on how happy we looked and talked about a few photos we had in there that she like. They were candid, fun pics that we had. That was why she picked us. She saw in the scrapbook who we really are!

We used some scrapbooking supplies, colored papers, stickers etc, but since yours are not being looked through by potential birthparents, that is probably not necessary.

Just find some really good pictures of you and your daughter doing what you love!

Thanks, good advice. I will try to get to it. I know they are definitely shown to both the committee and the child in my state...the thing I am struggling with the most is that I would make it really simple for the child, but think that the committee would not be impressed/get that .
