What do I do? Terrible pain, engorgement, etc. & pregnant (NOT BFing!)

I am 22 weeks pregnant. I have not lactated since the summer of 2008 when I was EPing after the birth of my first surrogate baby. I experience hyperlactation. When EPing, I was making 100 oz a day at 2 weeks PP.

Around 20 weeks pregnant, I began leaking colostrum here and there, which I know is normal and is usual for me and past pg's as well. But what is so different this time is the pain, engorgement and amount I am leaking. It's gotten to be very painful. My breasts are huge, moving around (just moving my arms) hurts, taking my bra off or putting it on puts me into tears. When I take my bra off, I leak like a faucet. I don't spray, but it just comes out for minutes on end.

Last night, I was in such pain, that I put a cup underneath of my right breast and massaged it gently as massaging feels good. I felt a let down. After 4 minutes of massaging gently (very gently!), I looked down to discover at least 1/2 tsp of colostrum from the one breast.

I've tried a hot shower, tried a tight bra, tried no bra, not massaging, etc. and the pain continues. The only time the pain lets up is when I massage them both and feel a let down and soak a washcloth. The pain is then almost gone completely for 4-5 hours. I want to pump but I know I shouldn't.

As I told friends, I almost wish I had been nursing or pumping when this pregnancy began or before it, that way I could be doing so now and not feeling this amount of pain.

ANY ideas? I know darn well my MW will say not to pump. It's so incredibly tempting, but I don't want to put the pregnancy in danger either.

Have you tried wearing a well-fitting bra that's NOT too tight, that provides proper support? You may need to get new bras if you're engorged and your old ones are too small.

Cabbage leaves in your bra can help releive engorgement and reduce milk supply.

I've done the leaves but they do squat. I did them when drying up after EPing last time and found them to be of little help as well. I've been sick this week, unable to drink much as I was feeling so ill, and yet the boobs still keep going (lol). :/

I do have a well fitting bra. I got one that gives tremendous support and spent a pretty penny on it. During just the breast growth before I began leaking, I felt great in the bra! Now it's that bra or any others or just no bra at all, my boobs hurt.

since I was on bedrest and had nothing better to do than play with my boobs... whenever I felt the pressure, I would massage. It didn't hurt the pregnancy, I didnt' ever ask about it though.. Plus I was super fascinated that I could made milk, and shoot it lol.. My poor boobs never got the change to get too terribly sore

I know mint tea is supposed to reduce supply; not sure if it's safe for pregnancy. Your mw may know of some herbs... sorry, it sounds awful!
