Tell them insane is my DH's Grandparents who still call each other mom and dad in their 80s because that's the habit they got into 60 years ago. I'd rather have my daughter call me by my name than my hubby still calling me mom in 50 years.

my oldest dd did this for a few months with dh and i. we figured she was just working out who was who in all their roles in life... she now calls us mom and dad again....

my almost 3 year old has really been exploring this name thing for awhile. it must really be an age thing! i dont mind, but i did tell her that she can use my special mama name too sometimes
