We've had a bunch of tests done recently for DD to figure out if there are any underlying causes of her food allergies and digestive issues. The doc just called and said she had a couple high markers indicating overgrowth of the bacteria klebsiella oxytoca, and is recommending we start immediately with treatment. He said we can try grapefruit seed extract, otherwise it's strong antibiotics (and from what I'm reading, it's multiple doses of strong abx, as they are abx-resistant bacteria.)

I'm just starting my research on this, and I don't actually have the test results in hand to see which markers were elevated (they're supposed to be mailing them to me), but I'm curious if anyone has experience with an overgrowth of this bacteria.

Also- what are your thoughts about using gse?

What I'm finding is that it's a naturally ocurring bacteria in the gut, but if it gets out of control (usually from taking abx, which DD has never had) or gets into other parts of the body, it's big trouble.

TIA!
