I seemed to have gotten a whole new set of stretch marks below my belly button. They're red and itchy and I'm wondering if there's any sort of anti-itch cream I can put on....or anything else that works wonders.
Olive oil. You can't 'prevent' stretch marks with all that stretch mark cream out there on the market - but you can hydrate them which helps take the itch away! Olive oil is good - or splash out and get a nice bump butter!
Yeah...the body butters work really well. I never had very good luck with lotions, but the more solid butters were won-der-ful! I'd slather it on a couple of times a day and it seemed so much better.
(As a budget issue, I used butters from the body shop... they have incredible January clearance items leftover from Christmas.)
100% pure shae butter, no filler! i got mine at a natural pharmacy, and it was only $7.99 for a tub - the same size of burt's bees with other junk in it (mostly olive oil) was $10 or more.
I used straight vitamin E (buy the gel caps and bust them open)
I only used it on my breasts, but they now have no stretch marks at all. Wishing I had used it on my tummy too... I look like I was attacked by a tiger!
ETA - I started using it when I had already had stretch marks on my breasts and was getting more. It not only stopped more from coming, but got rid of the ones I already had.
I've been getting the same thing over the past few days. It's SUPER itchy and my stomach is to the point where it kind of feels like it's on fire too I've been using Palmer's cocoa butter a couple times a day, but it hasn't relieved it...
I'll have to try a couple of these other methods-thanks for the advice mamas!
Jojoba oil is fantastic. It reacts with your skin in very close to the same way your natural skin oils do. Vitamin E oil is the best though, as it is what your body uses to repair itself. For healing and itch relief, I like Calendula and/or comfrey ointment. HTH
