Herbal Tincture - tell OB?

I am pregnant with my third child!
I had a quite traumatic delivery with my first. My labour was really not too bad - only used entonox (sp?).... But as soon as the baby was delivered, the MW commented on the amount of blood she was seeing. I believe at this point they tried massage and eventually oxytocin? pitocin? (sorry, I don't know what it was). Placenta would not come out. After waiting 45 minutes for the OB, who was in a C-section operation, the placenta was manually removed. Everything was fine after that. I was borderline needing a transfusion - but didn't in the end. I was just weak for a long time!
Second child, I used a GP in a bigger hospital (out of my paranoia). I also secretly used an herbal tincture that my herbalist gave me. This time there were issues with baby (cord around the neck)....but once that was all okay, they checked me and saw some bleeding. The docs were a bit confused about where it was coming from. Anyhow, the placenta did come out eventually. Bleeding eventually stopped, but a few days later I passed a HUGE clot - probably due to the clotting effect of the tincture (?) Had some later bleeding as well, and went on some antibiotics (which I now would question).
SO.....this time around we have since moved. My current GP suggested an OB due to my previous issues. I'm okay with this as here in Canada I think as long as I hold strong about my birthing wishes, interventions should be minimal, and I plan to use a doula again. BUT I'm wondering whether to tell the OB about the herbal tincture that I fully intend to take again. Any opinions? Would you tell the OB? I guess they could potentially refuse to provide services to me if they disagree....I'm really not sure what to do.

Thanks for your help

It is true that some herbs interact badly with some meds, so telling your OB about your formula might be in order.

However, I'm curious about the herbal formula you used--what was it? Does it have a brand name or company I could look up online? Or can you tell me what herbs are in it?

thanks

I do believe that you should always be transparent with your caregivers. If you don't like your care or don't trust your caregiver-- find another

Sorry - I don't know what the formula was, but I can ask my herbalist and find out. I'll try to post it for you soon. My naturopath seemed to think there was a very commonly used tincture for this, so it might be something you can obtain from a naturopath if you don't have an herbalist near you.

Thanks for the advice....
