Recurrent nosebleeds?

Earlier this winter, I kept getting a lot of nosebleeds. That's cleared up for a while, and then yesterday- bam! Another nosebleed. It finally settled down, I forgot and blew my nose, and then I'm bleeding for another 20 minutes. About a minute ago, another one started. It's not easy to typw w/ one hand while holding a hanky to my nose with the other!

I wonder if it has to do with the temperature (and thus humidity) outside- it was warm but a cold spell just started. Any tips on getting rid of these nosebleeds and keeping them from coming back?

I thought it was usually when it was really dry (the air). Saline nose drops? Neti pot? Would that keep things moister?

I used to always have frequent nosebleeds in the winters, even as a kid. The inside of the nose gets dried out from the indoor heat and dryness, and then it's fragile and one little sniffle or nose-blow and BAM it would be bleeding again.

My DD1 started to have them, too, so I went looking for a solution.

The solution I found was a two-pronged one: turn down the heat, and get a humidifier.

I'm already humidfying the air as best as I can- which is hard when I have forced hot air heat, and it's 20 degrees outside! Are there any supplements that might help me be less prone to nosebleeds? I'm the only one in the house affected- my kids are thankfully nosebleed-free.

It's at the bottom of the page. I haven't tried it though, it just came up so recently.

A product called Nosebleed QR works wonders to help get a nosebleed stopped. The powder helps form a good strong clot. I have to order it online, as all the local pharmacies don't seem to carry it.
