I've got a Maya Wrap - either I'm not using it right or I need something else.

I got it before dd1 was born and while I used it a fair amount it wasn't as much as I thought I would. I always envisioned using it to wear my baby around the house. Now that dd2 is here bringing the total number of kids to 3 I'm finding that I *really* need to be able to wear here around pretty much all the time.

The problem? While I've found a carry that works for some situations (snuggle hold) it doesn't seem to work if dd2 is awake as she doesn't like the sling over her head. I need something that will give her support and allow me to be able to reach down to put something in the dishwasher or to reach over while changing dd1's diaper. I'd also like something that wouldn't end up giving me lower back pain after wearing her for a few hours.

Is there something that would work better or am I not using what I have correctly?

I wish I could see a photo to figure if there is anything off about the way you're wearing it. oh well.

your talk about wanting to be able to lean and reach down and have her body and head be mroe supportive makes me think you'd like the beco butterfly. you could have her totally out of the way with a secure back carry, much younger than other carriers would allow.

if your looking for something different, try a sleepy wrap, or something of its equivilant, you can snuggle baby, bf baby, face in, face out, hip and back carry. back carry depends on which wrap you get.. it crisscrosses around your back, so babys weight supports your back, and little legs and arms get to kick and move freely, or you can tuck them in
